[history]
Counterdemonstrators were few compared with anti-war protesters yesterday, but they made their sentiments known at the U.S. Marine barracks.
By midafternoon, anti-war protesters were about two-thirds of the way through their march from the National Mall to the Navy Yard in Southeast when they met 80 counterdemonstrators outside the barracks at Eighth and I streets SE. The counterdemonstrators waved American flags and signs, some of which read "If you must burn our flag, wrap yourself in it first" and "What Would You Have Done on Flight 93? Free Iraq Now."

Ms. Duin was a trouper. She stayed with us all day in the cold. (Okay, like the rest of us she sought refuge in the sandwich shop at 8th and I St. :-)

*bump*
Did you spot any Hamas or Hezbollah flags? Word had it they'd show, and by the barracks. Did this happen?
Congratulations for the great show today. We were all with you from behind our tv's, radios, and on FR.

I wish I could feed honesty pills to these anti-war protesters and then ask them "Would you be protesting like this if Slick Willy were President?" hehehhe.....They are all political whores!!!

Outstanding conduct today Freeper. You and your war party routed the enemy in the finest of Freeper traditions. I've seen a couple of the pics. of USMC Joe K. and Free Republic's faithful Kristinn T. standing shoulder to shoulder on the battle field. Dr Raoul was featured on FOX news today. He was shown blasting the numbskulls with psyops tactics using his trusty bullhorn incessantly. His poster board was readable as well. From recollection: Hey Commies Lost ? Go Home. Thanks for all you do. From out in the heartland- freepersup

Caught the rebroadcast of the protest on C-SPAN (had to work today so I missed it live.) I believe the more the anti-war movement gets air time, the better. Seeing and hearing the parade of socialists, abortionists, anarchists, reparationists/racists, anti-semites, and tie-dyed 60's counter-culture retro-hippies will serve to wake people up to the terrorist sympathizers (and/or clueless useful idiots) in our midst. There are reasons to be against this war, but I heard none of them articulated by the motley collection assembled today.
Kudos to the freepers that braved the cold (and the protesters B.O.) to stand with our soldiers.

Just saw you guys on C_SPAN re-run on the west coast.
Good job, nice chants.
You got some good coverage considering they wouldn't tape your event.
Dr Raoul, grinnin' and chantin' LOL

I didn't see any. It seems that ANSWER is reacting to our critiques of their rallies and cleaning up their public relations act. Their message is the same though: Communist revolution in the USA.

Your very kind.
I missed most of the TV coverage, but from what I've read here we didn't do so bad.

The cameras didn't capture the New York contingent, but they did a great job. I didn't know C-SPAN was there, LOL. But it worked out okay :-)

I've been doing some research about the organizers. These "anti-war" rallies are being orchestrated. They are not grassroots.

You know, somehow we end up being in the right place at the right time.
Doctor Raoul is dangerous with a bullhorn. Really dangerous!
