Kristin Smart, 19, of Stockton, disappeared May 25, 1996.

San Luis Obispo detectives are looking at Scott Peterson in connection with the disappearance of a college student nearly seven years ago.

Peterson, husband of Laci Peterson, went to Cal Poly at the same time as Kristin Smart, who disappeared May 25, 1996.

One of Laci Peterson's family members believes that whatever happened to her may have occurred sometime on Dec. 23, after she spoke to her mother.
Laci Peterson opened the drapes in her home every morning, said the family member, who asked not to be identified.

Haven't heard from SP's family. Kim Peterson, Laci's family spokesperson, is not related to them.

SP in LA? When? They had scheduled a volunteer effort for Laci but it's been canceled.

I guess he never heard of DIVORCE. Divorce is horrible, but murder?????

A horrible thing to thinh ... but if he didn't want the child (or it wasn't his) he may have been concerned about child support. Sick, indeed!

Quit dogging OJ. He has followed through on his pledge to devote his life to finding Nicole's real killer. He sees him every time he looks into his reflection in a water hazard on a golf course.

Divorce costs money. Murder pays in the short run. If the story of the affair is true, it shows how adultery leads to murder and fraud. This guy isn't a Congressman, so it will be an expensive romance and short-lived. I'll bet the girlfriend will turn state's evidence to protect herself.

Somebody mentioned a radio report last night to say a body had been discovered:

But, then look at post #757 on the same thread. That's the closest thing I can think of to a body being mentioned last night.

I have learned that love triangles often end in murder. We had several cases here last year. Dentist ran over her husband when she caught him with his girlfriend. Another case, man came to ex-wife's beauty shop and shot and killed her. Another one, the man was ready to jump off an overpass, his ex-wife was getting remarried. I have learned that when you play with fire, you get burned. I really have learned a lot in the past few years.

It appears to me as though he saw Chandra Levy disappear without consequence, so he thought he'd give it a try himself.

When all this is over (as I hope it will be soon), I look forward to a good book to read about how all this transpired. Mark Furman or Joe McGinnis maybe.

"The brief interview took place by telephone as Peterson made his way home from Los Angeles. "I'm going to come back to Modesto and open my own volunteer center and find my wife and my kid," he said. "

Cheer up Scott, you'll get some good 'yuks' at Laci's search & volunteer center

........................oh wait, did they CLOSE IT UP???
