[VANITY] What can Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator do that Mozilla cannot?

I just downloaded and installed Mozilla and it seems to be better than the Explorer 5.5 I had been using.
What is the downside to this? It seems to do everything I used explorer for, plus it has killed all unrequested popups, yet permits popups that I request (like tvguide).
Is there something I'm missing here?

Actually no. When I buy a new computer, I sell the MS OS I was forced to buy on Ebay.
I thought so. Dust off your wallet. The cobwebs must be getting thick.

Because it disables scripting and activex, I believe.

I don't know - I may be the last WIN95 user in the universe(although I know one Fed. agency that as recently as a year ago had about 5000 Win95 users). You might ask Bush2000 - I would expect that MS would have statistics on this.

Mozilla works fine full screen with an auto hide toolbar at the top for me. Since I have never had the problem, I can't offer advice on how to fix yours.

Yes there are. I worked on some 95 and 95-Plus macinhes last week. I would go with a 32 bit OS if I were them.

My "Daddy" died. My mother too. I guess I'm an orphan now. I can stay up as late as I want.
Call DCYS. You need foster care.

Do you have to tell it which sites you want to see the pop ups at, or does it figure it out on its own?
To: Petronski
Well Mozilla won't let the pop-up ads show on my desktop. I have to surf the internet without the privilege of seeing all those lovely X-10 camera ads, or punch the monkey, or any of the others. In IE and Netscape I can see all the ads without even having to do anything -- they just "pop-up"!

Also, Mozilla's password an form manager is great.

Oh...someone addressed that...it's just killing the OnLoad and OnExit popups and allowing the others through.
To: Psycho_Bunny
In 'Preferences | Advanced | Scripts & Plugins' I unchecked the box marked 'Allow scripts to...open unrequested windows.'
Based on that alone, it permits popups that I request, but has been blocking all of the X10 Camera and Color Test and Punch the Monkey ads.

Netscape 7 is the commercial Mozilla version and includes the pop up blocker and an e-mail client. Very Slick I haven't gone past Netscape6 - it had a bad habit of trying to market AOL as I recall. As for the email, Mozilla comes with an email client.

Phoenix is pre-alpha, ie 0.5. So YMMV.
Mozilla is released 1.2.1
I use Mozilla 1.2.1 as my default crose platform browser. No popups as a starter. Tabbed browsing is tops if you do a lot of research.

>>>Pop-up stopper does not seem to be able to distinguish between requested pop-ups and unrequested pop-ups.
That is because MS violates the HTML specs and so do the page owners which design the page with MS tools. Classic example of monopoly behavior.
IE wants pop-ups so you can wade thru them and read all the adds. Pop-up blockers have the same fault generally.
Everyone plays by the rules but you know who.

The aberdeen report is nonsense. Their count for Linux counted the same problem repeatedly when it was present in different distrbutions, and included application vulnerabilities with OS vulnerabilities (Linux distibutions usually include thousands 0f apps).
My firewall detects windows attacks almost evry day -- it has yet to detect a Linux attack.
