[VANITY] What can Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator do that Mozilla cannot?

I just downloaded and installed Mozilla and it seems to be better than the Explorer 5.5 I had been using.
What is the downside to this? It seems to do everything I used explorer for, plus it has killed all unrequested popups, yet permits popups that I request (like tvguide).
Is there something I'm missing here?

They want to knock MS from its perch as the predominant desktop OS. Precisely. They are so bad at what they monopolize (desktop systems & servers), that developers have created a competing product for free. In their spare time. Because they wanted to.

Why don't you start an aids thread and stop corrupting this thread with that disgusting homo stuff...
Nah. I'm not that motivated by the proposal. I simply don't like seeing people propagate obvious falsehoods.

Mozilla seems to be able to tell the difference. It's sweet. AFAIK what Mozilla and most other browsers do is allow popups only in response to you clicking a link. Most of the obnoxious ads try to create popups when a page is loaded or closed, so they get blocked.

Someone who has been around FR since early 98 is not a troll. Grow some balls. He was kidding.

That makes zero sense. If they were so bad, nobody would use them.

The problems you describe are not issues with IE, but rather settings you can adjust and also the active x control you have installed sounds corrupted. You need to update it, or delete it and let IE reinstall it for you.
IE works better for me than all the others; it is a matter of learning it.

Now, now, Glenn. Don't get huffy or your Daddy's gonna take away your computer and suspend your allowance...

There is already a solution for AIDS... Find a wife and stop browsing with the same sexKidding, right? You can't seriously think having a wife is immunity to AIDS. Tell that to the people who contracted AIDS from transfusions, dentists and blood draws.

I already pointed out the problem with his suggestion. To which he replied that it's almost impossible to get it from heterosexual sex. Unbelievable.

I dont get it; IE does all the others do, and more. It is user error if someone can't get it to run "like the others" do. Maybe the other browsers are more kiddie friendly, but then they are limited in what they can do (settings, meshing with the OS, etc.)

There are some nice features, though: tabbed browsing, popup-killing, etc.

I do run 98 on a laptop. I haven't seen any advantages with it. It has been my experience that most upgrades provide additional bloat with little improvement in performance. I upgrade operating systems when I upgrade computers.
Besides, 98 wouldn't do me much good - MS has already announced they are dropping support for it. Why would I trade one unsupported OS for another?

I set my privacy to medium high and almost all popups are stopped, for some reason. I did have some that would load, but went and put in ZA Pro (for high speed access security) and am fine.

"Mozilla users actually buy things?"
Actually no. When I buy a new computer, I sell the MS OS I was forced to buy on Ebay.
