[VANITY] What can Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator do that Mozilla cannot?

I just downloaded and installed Mozilla and it seems to be better than the Explorer 5.5 I had been using.
What is the downside to this? It seems to do everything I used explorer for, plus it has killed all unrequested popups, yet permits popups that I request (like tvguide).
Is there something I'm missing here?

Dump all of them and get Opera 6.
They have a beta version of Opera 7 out but I am not happy with it yet.
Opera 6 rules!

Why is that that when I visit certain web pages (FreeRepublic is one) my text size changes? If you have a scroll wheel mouse, here is the answer: While on FreeRepublic, hold down the control key while scrolling one click at a time. One direction will increase font size, the other direction will decrease it.
If you have no scroll wheel mouse, go to the top menu bar and click on "View" then down to "Text Size" and then select a font size from the drop down context menu.
I have no idea why the font is changing size but those are the fixes.

It's an excellent browser with only one pitfall: as far as I'm aware, you still can't browse full-screen with a "auto-hide" toolbar which will appear and disappear when you move the mouse to and from the top of the screen.
If you don't care about full screen browsing and you're happy with Mozilla then keep it. There's no reason not to like it: it's a fine browser, though not all sites support it yet and you might have minor problems with complex sites that haven't coded for Mozilla. It also opens slower than IE because IE is loaded into memory when Windows starts but, that's irrelevant after the browser is open and it's not so bad as to be annoying.....it's just something I've noticed.
Those of us who appreciate full screen browsing with auto-hide have to stick with IE until Mozilla supports the function. That's the biggest downside right now.
As for "Stopping popups" IE did this without third party software. It's amazing how many people are ignorant of the fact but I discussed it here today.

One huge difference. Microsoft says the minimum system requirements for 6.0 include Win98 or higher operating system
You are correct. You can't run IE 6.0 on Win95. However, why are you still using Win95? I mean, I realize some people are reluctant to upgrade, but do yourself a favor and at least get WIN98SE.

Of course it's cool. It's the best browser around
Former Explorer user, never again

Well, I don't want to turn this into a harangue, but that just turns off ALL popups. There are some sites that use them intentionally.
Mozilla seems to be able to tell the difference. It's sweet.

it's a sad state for development when a corporation is so bad at doing what it monopolizes...
That isn't what motivates these developers. They want to knock MS from its perch as the predominant desktop OS.

There is already a solution for AIDS... Find a wife and stop browsing with the same sex.
And if this hypothetical wife has an affair with someone that has HIV ... ?

The new household devices will drive them batty.
MS Toilet 1.0 - they'll revert to using outhouses :)

Tell me something: How much is the collective time that open source developers contribute to their individual projects worth? A billion dollars? Zero dollars? And for all that cost, Linux is no more secure than Windows (
Most Unsecure OS? Yep -- it is Linux!)

Well, then your screwed. However, though it's not impossible, men rarely get aids from women unless they share a needle with them.

Actually, if you think about it, it kind of makes sense. Techies, in general, don't like to think about body hygiene -- or spending any time away from their computers. Some would probably welcome the opportunity to have a toilet built-into their chairs. Or have a special laptop-mount in the bathroom. Scary. But ...

Ah, I see. That explains why half of Africa is infected with HIV. They all must be gay, right?

Why don't you start an aids thread and stop corrupting this thread with that disgusting homo stuff...
