You know very well I thought he was referring to Jesse Lee Patterson.

Just proves what a fraud you are.

Good for President Bush! Now, whether or not this will come to pass, is another story.

My daughter graduated from the UofM Dearborn campus with a GPA of 3.8. She applied to UofM Ann Arbor law school and was sent a letter: "SORRY, we have to meet our quota; please try again next year!" Upon researching, you only need a GPA of 3.5 to get into the law school, but if you are a minority, (sorry) you only need a GPA of 2.5!

(She has since graduated from 'someplace else' and passed the bar last spring.) :)

No offense, but with those scores I am curious how you survived the Jim Robinson vetting process?

I had low expectations after the 2000 elections.
I expected Dubya to be the frat boy the media made him out to be.
Today I see him as a great leader of men.
God has blessed America with a President who is truly guided by deep morality and vision.

...we must make sure that America's public schools offer a quality education to every child from every background, which is the central purpose of the education reforms I signed last year.

This is the crux of the whole matter. If the public schools in the inner cities would just perform and arm those students with a decent education we wouldn't need affirmative action in the first place. It is my opinion that affirmative action is only in place to make up for the total failure of elementary and secondary education in the black and poorer communities. Now, W needs to come out and offer vouchers in the cities. Then, we might really get somewhere.

Bush is the Greatest President in history you would agree. I have always said that since 2000. But I do try and keep our leaders feet to the fire! You have heard of John McCain haven't you?

Our Constitution makes it clear that people of all races must be treated equally under the law. Yet we know that our society has not fully achieved that ideal.

Our society never will achieve that ideal, as long as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, et. al. have anything to say about it.

Those race mongers, by their actions and words, trample the legendary "dream" of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the dream where someday, people are not judged by the color of their skin. In truth, race is everything to them. Oh, they'll rant and rave and feign righteous indignation while they make their self-serving MLK Day speeches, and claim his spirit "lives on" in them, and tell us how they'll "fight" to bring his dream to fruition.

In fact, the last thing the race mongers want, is for his dream to become reality.

Racial prejudice is a reality in America.

Yes, White and Asian students are discriminated against by Democrats.

Jack Nasser (Ford ex-CEO) also used a quota system to promote diversity within the ranks

Jack Nasser was holding a meeting for HR types at Ford one day. He announced that to meet the company diversity goals that there would be no further hires, promotions or pay raises for white males at Ford. Jaws hit the table. Nobody could believe that he would be so crass as to make such a statement in an open meeting. The word got around Ford within minutes after the meeting. Lot's of "white males" shifted to "minimum productivity mode" in protest. I didn't put a stopwatch on it, but I think Nasser announced his resignation within 3 weeks after that incident.

Jack Nasser (Ford ex-CEO) also used a quota system to promote diversity within the ranks, which resulted in at least a couple of age discrimination suits and, finally, contributed to Mr. Nasser's demise. Forced diversity (i.e. not spontaneous) IS about discrimination. A few middle-aged, white male mechanical engineers will vouch for that.

There's a hell of a lot more than a few of us former old white boy Ford people who will vouch for that. My last master...I mean, boss was a racist africanhyphenamerican. He took a vacation day to go to Cincinnati to protest when the case was at the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. I almost called him to commiserate with him after Bush's statement, but thought better of it. I figured he was in enough misery without my cheerful call.

You know, that was my Pollyanna husband's answer when I told him that Bush may not fight this....I said I don't think it's fair for our girls to lose out to someone just because they are white.
He said, "So what, we'll send them to a better school. I thought you wanted them to go to Hillsdale anyway."!!
I am so glad our Prez made the right decision.
