Exactly. This would have been worrisome 100 years ago. Now it's a trip to the doctor's office.

CCW, you think someone is trying to save the city some money over at the local prairie dog town er: black water fields?
We just had a few cases in NYC that some fine folks from New Mexico caught. Yes, they were American tourists in NY. I dont think anyone should get hysterical over this. Must be a slow news day.

Wow, bubonic plague
and cheese in the same
story:
India, the world's second-leading source of imported Cheddar cheese and milk products entering the U.S., also has cases of bubonic plague, which killed 30 percent of the population of Europe in the 14th century.
Although transmitted mainly by the rat flea, a form of bubonic plague called septicemic plague infects the bloodstream and is spread through contact with contaminated hands and foods. Owners of water buffalo [Okay, so it's not a moose] who milk their animals often store milk overnight without refrigeration and combine it with the morning's milking before taking it to market. Workers often spit on their hands to keep them and the animals' teats moist while milking.

City councilman on Fox says the President has been briefed on this. Just what he needs on top of everything else. The RATS need to stop their stupid power games and get down to business. I am angry and I have contacted every senator, Sean, Brit and called with my support for Senator Frist.

It's so comforting to know that disease samples are under control of the marxist college and university network in this country. Research or not, you gotta wonder what else they've got stashed in security-lax labs and broom closets that we don't know about.

This strikes me as more of an attempt to scare people than to cause actual deaths. We'll tie up valuable investigative time looking for these instead of concentrating on finding the real killer stuff.
At least it will be more interesting to listen to the talking heads babble about this than listening to them interview a bunch of over-the-hill exhibitionists who lost all their brains with their looks.

That is one scary pack of women! They make Squeeky Fromme look like a schoolgirl.
Never date a woman who enjoys the pain of tattoo's, piercing, candle wax, or who knows how to handle a weapon. That bunch looks like those behaviors would be foreplay.

Actually, I don't know how it might affect livestock--so it could be a problem for the cattle industry, I guess.
Fox TV now reporting that vials are only "missing", not necessarily stolen, and they don't know how long ago this happened. They also report that the strain/strains missing are not a kind that can be weaponized.

Not a huge deal if caught early. Earlier in the year 2 NM residents caught it on their property and were in NYC when the symtoms were identified. The man was farther along, and despite treatment contracted an infection that resulted in the amputation of his feet. (My neighbor knows these folks...)
