LACI PETERSON UPDATE- 1-14-03
Fox News- On The Record

Van Sustren interviewed 20 year Berkley Bay fisherman Craig Stone. Stone said that nothing about what Scott Peterson did on the fishing trip to Berkley Bay seemed out of the ordinary to him from a fishing viewpoint. The bait was appropriate and available. The sturgeon were available. The boat size was not unusual. The optimal fishing area was not far off shore. The fish are prized but not easily caught. The time of day peterson was fishing was appropriate. It all seemed plausable to him.

'I heard this mans mother say he has lost 15 lbs & cries all the time since his wife's disappearance'
I have heard from the experts that when someone murders a loved one that they too go thru some sort of grieving process. Or then again, he may just be plain worried he might get caught.
IMHO
well as everyone has been saying, the boat was way too small for him to use.
because it wasn't one of those magic boats or rubber rafts of the same size that the police were using that are immune to waves.

I took this picture on the 13th.Thanks for pic. I was curious how long a parking ticket lasted and that answers it.

". I heard this mans mother say he has lost 15 lbs & cries all the time since his wife's disappearance."
well this is because he knows he is guitly and the police are closing in...(of course...)
The modesto police have a laundry list of people they have never found after a few years. More power to them though.

I feel the same way. Whatever happened to the "innocent until proven guilty" business? We seem to have him tried and executed already. He may well BE guilty but we don't know that. Motive? Nobody seems to have a clue.

And just maybe his lawyers have told him NOT to say anything. We know how effective getting up to the mike and shedding tears for your loved one is--NADA!! Remember Susan Smith? We need to have a little more compassion for people who have to go through this ordeal. I could choke some of those news reporters for the stupid questions they ask (was she carrying her husband's baby?????). Grrr.

HE DIDN'T GO ON CHRISTMAS EVE. He went in the morning of that day. I don't know that many men who help their wives get food prepared, etc. for these events. Most of the wives would probably be happy to get them the he$$ out of the way so they can get it done themselves. Perhaps his lawyers advised him NOT to get a lie detector test. We do not know all the facts here. It's all supposition on our parts.
God forbid long time, respected Freeper's wife go missing with no witnesses. It would be like "the law of club and fang" here. Every thing ever posted would come back.
"my wife knows her place, haha" would become proof of the beatings he gave her.
He would be smart not to take a lie detector test though.
Plenty of people can pass lie detector tests with lies. Me and 11 other people sent a guy to prison for the rest of his life. He passed a lie detector test.
Keep in mind...the experts are all idiots... Did we forget the experts during the DC sniper hunt?
Or are they all beyond reproach again????

A lovely knitted scarf that fit very tightly around her milky white throat. A lovely new tarp to wear in inclement weather. Some lovely rope for tying up loose ends. And I suspect, her very own grave site.

Maybe Scott Peterson heard some of the coverage of the Smart case. Or the VanDams' ordeal.
As unfortunate as it is, I think the wisest thing to do in a situation like that nowadays is to go to a lawyer quickly, whether you did anything or not.

Keep in mind...the experts are all idiots... Did we forget the experts during the DC sniper hunt? Remember, LE in the Modesto area went on a wild goose chase looking for a motorcycle gang in the Sund/Peloso murder case passing up the killer. It turned out to be the motel handyman Cary Stayner.

well as everyone has been saying, the boat was way too small for him to use.Way too small for sturgeon fishing, which is what he was apparently going to go for. At least that's what some are saying in some articles I've read. The boat wasn't adequate for catching sturgeon of 3 to 6 feet, which I think is about what the legal range is for sturgeon. Photos I've seen of sturgeon somewhere yesterday show some pretty large fish.

Well, here, let's see if there's anything unusual in these latest tidbits of info:
Blood found on kitchen floor - awaiting test results to confirm it's Laci's.
Bags of cement and buckets were found in warehouse rented by Scott. Hubby's explanation: "I was mixing cement, making heavy anchors for my boat".
Hubby's girlfriend calls police and asks "why are you showing pictures of Scott Patterson and what's this about a wife - he's divorced" (or so he told her)
Huge insurance policy taken out on Laci, small one on Scott.

Assuming we are all suspects under your "see no evil, hear no evil" supposition, who is the most likely suspect among us?
The most likely suspect is the person or persons with a motive for killing her.
Naturally, it could be a "sperm of the moment" killing by some deranged Californian serial killer (and since just about everything and anything happens in California one can never rule such an occurrence out) or a deranged person who wants a baby or wants a baby to sell. Yes, those are possibilities.
But are there template murders such as these that have occurred either recently or in the recent past that would suggest to the police that this is what they should be focusing on? Possibly, but I'm not aware of any "recent" crimes of a similar nature committed in this general area.
Very often the victim is either related to the perpetrator or knows the identity of the perpetrator. Many times it is the husband who murders his wife either in a premeditated fashion (usually for sex or money or both) or kills her in a fit of rage (manslaughter).
People always couch their suspicions by saying, "everyone handles their grief in a different way." I'd love to know exactly what way(s) they're talking about.
Your pregnant wife has disappeared, most likely the victim of foul play. In addition, your unborn son or daughter has been taken away from you, most likely forever. Your first reaction is unbelieveable shock, followed closely by an overwhelming sense of grief and saddness.
But I believe a real man, a loving husband who was innocent would fight through that pain and sorrow to help the police in every way he could. That would include making yourself available to both the media and police because you believe in your heart that they offer you the best hope of getting your wife and baby back.
I can see where if you had other children to console and care for they would initially take precedent over the media and the police. But after several days, after several weeks, there is no excuse for not being a man and taking charge of the crusade to find your loved ones.
Many of you think his actions normal. I do not. I think his actions prior to her disappearance and his actions following her disappearance are highly circumspect.
I think the police agree. To simply accept his word on everything would fly in the face of common sense.
Even if the police find her body (which I doubt) they would still have to tie the murder to him. Without a single witness, without his having opened his mouth, with his having procured a lawyer to shield him from the law, I believe he has most likely gotten away with murder.
However, Mary, if you have a better suspect at the moment, please name him.
To: KneelBeforeZod
Yes of course, it could mean either he is guilty & scared he will be found out or that he is grieving for fear his wife has been murdered. Thats why I am waiting to make judgement.
