OK, I will pray for him. I hadn't thought about him in this context, but obviously, from his words, he needs a great deal of help.
I think I will pray for that rabbi, too.

........prayers for Phil.

What YOU said! I thought his program ratings were something like less than zero, yet everyday there's a new Donahue thread. Sheesh, just change the channel!

Why does Phil Donahue care what it takes to get into Heaven? Doesn't he know It's full of Jerry Falwells?
To: Miss Marple; ohioWfan
Wonder if I should cruise on over to his site and write a little note, saying that we're all praying for him.....or just wait till God whacks him one up the side of the head.

To be right, this has to be done privately, without anything more than a ping or two. He can simply be added to existing prayer lists.
Remember also, that planting is one person's job, watering another's, but God gives the increase. IOW, if there are immediate visible results, fine. If there are none, fine. But anyone who starts should not stop soon, maybe not for months or more.
A 'quickie' ain't gonna work!

DonaWHO?, the socialists, and the Clintonista's have this goofed up idea that as long as THEY control the dictionary, their views shal be "what it is".
Hate to disappoint them but God's book is THE BIBLE, not the dictionary.

Absolutely awesome! It never occured to me while reading this thread....to pray for Phil. Thank you. The old nature is still too close to the surface of this Christian, I guess. Thank you so very much for your post.
Prayer thread BUMP!

If you tell me that I'm not going to heaven, then why should you respect me? If the Lord doesn't respect me, why should you?" It looks like Phil wants God to put him (Phil) at the center of things instead of the other way around.........He wants God to do things his way.
I can see him puffing his chest out in God's presence and stating that he needs a little respect.
If I were you Phil, I would ask for a mirror that would show what I looked like to God. You would be both humbled and encouraged. God sees you as valuable in spite of yourself and your ignorance.

I read Phil's biography(he wrote it many years ago). The thing that is so damning about his remarks is he was a devout catholic for many years. Married with 4 children. Even went on retreats--he tells all about this. He needs help real bad because he has been shown the truth and has willfully turend his back on it and repudiated God. He has a new religion now and it is secular humanism. He does need prayers.

One of the last, the very last, last people I would go to for truth about who might be lucky enough to get to heaven would be ... Phil Donahue! Who cares what Phil Donahue thinks?

I would like to recommend to y'all the book, "The Great Divorce" by C. S. Lewis.Been a long time since I read it, but as I remember, his arguement was that Hell would be filled with people who prefered continuing in Hell to acknowledging the power, glory, and justice of God. The comments in this article remind me of that - people who fear Christianity becuase of the demands it makes on their behavior.
As for myself - I am convinced God will judge with perfect justice. I have chosen to throw myself on the mercy of the court, and let Jesus pay the price justice demands of my behavior.

I wonder what PD will say to the Almighty one day, when he, like you and I, will have to give an account.I don't know what he will say, but it will look something like this:
Isaiah 5, 15 So man will be brought low and mankind humbled, the eyes of the arrogant humbled.
Opps, there I go, being a bigot again....
