NPR Bigots Ignore Sharpton's Candidacy

NPR Bigots Ignore Sharpton's Candidacy

The Democrat party establishment would rather ignore the embarrassing White House wannabe Al "Tawana Brawley" Sharpton. So would its media stooges, including the taxpayer-funded leftist drones at NPR.

If you happened to be listening to National Pinko Radio on Saturday morning (don't worry; hardly anyone else was either), you might have been surprised that the discussion of Democrats who had announced plans that week for the party's 2004 presidential nomination noted only Sen. John Edwards and Rep. Dick Gephardt.

Conspicuously omitted was Sharpton, who went one step farther than Gephardt on Friday by forming a presidential exploratory committee. How racially insensitive of NPR. Al, it's time for one of your noisy marches on NPR's headquarters.

Other media, too, gave Sharpton only a tiny fraction of the attention lavished on Edwards' formation of a committee.

"I am running for president to finally put the issues concerning most Americans on to the front burner," Sharpton said in a statement. But the party establishment would rather put his issues on the back burner to avoid further alienating mainstream voters.

Sharpton's candidacy, of course, will go nowhere. Let's hope he howls long and hard when the Democrat nominee refuses to consider him for running mate.

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

We've gotta be careful that we don't get Al too p***ed at the Democrats and their media minions for ignoring him: he might switch parties and become a Republican ;-)

he might switch parties and become a Republican ;-)

Either political gang, Repubs or Democrats won't elevate him to a candidacy, in their party.

Sharpton would be best served by threatening to start another party. He could call it the Black Party or some other suitable name. Then Al could be a presidential candidate, and sink the socialist(democrat) ship, just like Ralph. Nader sunk their ship in the last election with the Green Party nomination.

If Sharpton threatens to start another party he would be paid off by the socialists to stay on the democrat reservation. This could be done via a political contributor under the table. It has to be done by the right people who let it be known that he can't get greedy or talk because he and his family will be .......

From the other political gang, the dumb Republicans seem too politically inept to figure out how to get Sharpton to start another party to lure black votes away from the socialists (democrats) so they can have a Nader like victory again.

The dumb republicans are going to do it the hard way by trying to lure black voters at the expense of their base support by acting more like the socialists. -Tom

I guess I'm not so out of touch then. Like Carl Limbacher, I too listen to NPR on Saturday morning.

Perhaps their news editors, just like Carl Limbacher, decided that Sharpton had no realistic chance of being nominated so they decided to spend their meager resources reporting on more relistic candidates. I mean, isn't that exactly what Carl said - that Sharpton is not newsworthy?

So what is the point of Carl's screed?

I'm glad the Democrat's and media's hypocrisy concerning Sharpton is not being ignored by everyone. Democrat politics in NY go through Sharpton's office and all the Dems pay homage to the Rev Al-never once denouncing his history. The clintons especially, have courted Al and his rolodex ,1-800-Rent-A-Vote. The Dems use Al to get out the base, when it suits them,as they use all black people. If the Dems want to embarrass a Republican mayor, they call Al,1-800- Rent-A- Mob. But,now that Al might be mucking up the primary- if you are an inner city or southern black voter and the choice is between lily white Edwards or the Rev Al-who do you think will get their vote?? The Dems are now treating Al as if he is totally invisible. The "Al Who?" sleight of hand by the Democrats should not be allowed to stand. Imagine the media and pundits looking the other way,if our party had a maverick, whose raison d'etre was self aggrandizement ?? Why, they would focus on this guy 24/7 !! The Democrats do not want Al driving his campaign bus through primary states, they want him to clean Edward's bus. The Democrats have always brought Al to the party, now they should be forced to dance with him- anything less, would be racist!! I hope the Black Maverick gets as much attention from the media as McCain-anything less, would be racist!! Run,Al,Run!!!

Ok....I don't get it.

According to the Conservative Handbook, on page 372 of the 5th printing, "Liberal Dominance of the media is an issue to be used at all times. We must re-enforce the notion that in order to desensitize the public, liberals will be foisted upon the public endlessly. The more bizarre the candidate, the more public air and print time they will recieve." There it is....in black and white.

No, seriously we complain when their more bizarre and marginal candidates get "face" time and we complain when they don't.

Honestly, I bet if they had mentioned Sharpton, either Newsmax or Accuracy in Media would have complained about the mention or the number of mentions he received.

Maybe this is the way they balance the reporting. They ignored our bizarre no chance candidate (Keyes) and no they are ingoring the libs (Sharpton).

How does a neighborhood activist expect to be taken seriously as candidate for President of the United States? He has never held elective office. Hey Al, get elected to something in your own community before you try to advance your issues on the rest of the country.

You're right that Edwards is the one whose candidacy is hurt by Sharpton's run. So does this mean NPR is backing Edwards?

There isn't one.

,,,,,,

once again you miss the point! We are going to end the racist issue that the democrats use against republicans. That is the reason!

This below from Carl....and Freerepublic

In a press release issued Sunday, Kevin Martin, Political and Government Affairs Director of African American Republican Leadership Council, invited those concerned about Byrd's atrocious record on race to join members of his and other civil rights groups like the Brotherhood Organization for a New Destiny (BOND) and Project 21, along with members of the Web site FreeRepublic.com, at the 12:00 noon protest at Byrd's Hart Building Senate office.

Martin said the protest would specifically address the following issues:

"Senator Byrd’s appearance as Georgia Confederate General Paul J. Semmer in the upcoming Civil War Epic 'Gods and Generals.' We firmly believe that Senator Byrd has no business playing this role given his past ties to the Ku Klux Klan and past support of segregationist principles

"We are demanding that Senator Byrd remove his name from consideration as the Democrat choice for Senate Pro-Tempore when the Senate returns to session on January 7th 2003. It is our belief that Senator Byrd does not represent the mainstream of Americans and has no place in the line of succession to the Presidency should the Democrats regain the majority.

"Senator Byrd’s opposition to both African-American Supreme Court nominees Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas gives us grave concern for any future nominees of color that may be sent forth by this President or any other. It is our belief that Senator Byrd's opposition has nothing to do with the beliefs of liberal or conservative, but is just racism in general.

"It is our belief that as a former Majority Leader, Ranking Chairman and Ranking Member again of the Senate Appropriations Committee, that Senator Byrd has used his influence to silence criticism by the Congressional Black Caucus and so-called civil rights groups. We demand that Senator Byrd gives up his seat on the Appropriations Committee and that Senate Democrat Leader Tom Daschle reassign him to another committee.

"We demand that Robert Byrd issue a public apology for his racist and bigoted statements made on 'Fox News Sunday' in 2001. Senator Byrd's comments have no place in the halls of our great Senate and should not be tolerated by his fellow Senators."

Byrd has never apologized for the his nationally televised racist outburst in person, where he used the epithet "n----rs" twice, but instead issued a written statement of apology immediately after the FNS broadcast.

"The coalition gathered here today believes that any debate on race put forth by the Democrat Party and its liberal operatives is nothing more than a scam as long as Robert Byrd's behavior and voting record on civil rights issues is not included in the debate," said Martin.

"Senator Byrd is not within the mainstream of 21st century politics and our coalition is gathered here today to finally make this known to the American people."

Join the fight to stop democrats from their lies that all republicans are racist when its the democrats that are the racist party!

" So does this mean NPR is backing Edwards"

I was using Edwards as an example, but it wouldn't surprise me. Watch how the Democrats and liberal pundits act, when Sharpton's name is mentioned-their eyes glaze over for a second and then they act deaf. They totally ignore Sharpton because, they don't want to acknowledge he exists, during the upcoming election season. But,boy do the Democrats grovel in front of Al, during campaign season, when they want him to get out the vote. They all make the pilgrimage to Harlem to meet with Al and get his blessing when they need votes. I don't recall any Democrat politician refusing to meet Al-Gore went,Bradley went, the clinton's, of course.Lieberman has met with Al in DC .Hillary and Al co hosted a town hall meeting in Harlem when she was running for Senator. Bob Novak tries to question Democrats and liberal pundits on Crossfire about Sharpton and most of the time, they ignore his questions.I think the Democrats are afraid of Sharpton-if his candidacy gets enough publicity,he could cause a lot of trouble for them with their base.Al has said publically that he will "not be the battered wife" of the Democrat Party,so hopefully,he will not go quietly. It looks like it will be up to the conservative media, to remind black Democrats, that Al Sharpton is running for President !!

No surprise here!

NPR and their fans -- leftist liberals -- are the same folks that:
1. Believe blacks to be too inferior to complete without affirmative action or "set asides" or lowered standards.

2. Believe it is a woman's right to slaughter a full term infant.

3. Believe that Freedom of Choice does NOT apply to allowing black parents to use vouchers to escape ghetto schools.

4. STILL believe that all cultures are equal and that diversity is our strength...

5. Wish to deny American's their 2nd Ammendment rights to arm themselves against criminals and potential political tyrants.

6. Oppose the death penalty for criminals GUILTY of the most inhumane crimes -- but insist on killing innocent children.

Yes folks --- these are NPR's fans..
Yes folks --- NPR doesn't wish to have THEIR party soiled by the acknowledgement that Al Sharpton is running to head their party and their country.....

The silly RACIST bastards at NPR are so full of it --- their teeth have turned brown...
