Freedom of the business owner? What a riot. It's your selfish need to serve your own habit over anyone else's concerns be it owner or fellow patron that is the problem here. Talk about a self-reightous act, smoking is it.

The owner isn't desperate to let people smoke, except for the childish attitudes of people who smoke and want to punish anyone they can since they can't smoke inside any longer. If they can't smoke, they just won't go out. Now there's an adult attitude for ya.

I don't smoke. I think smoking is stupid. However, I do not claim it is my right to tell a business owner how to run his business.

Your self-righteous comments aside - what about the business owner who is a smoker??? And since it is perfectly legal in about 20 states to refuse to hire someone based upon whether they smoke or not, why shouldn't a smoking owner who only hires smokers have the freedom to cater to smokers???

Five years ago, for the first time I could take small children and my wife out to eat without having to wash my clothes and shower as soon as I got home.

Let's see, an ice tea for me, a water for my wife. The kids will just go play the video games.

Tip? What for? All I had was ice tea.

Yep, the bar owner can really make a living off of you.

You want to pay my tab, I will go. But I refuse to pay for that personal abuse. Get a grip!

Why should WE spend our hard earned money on recreation where we are not wanted! We can stay home, be comfortable and save our money.

And when your private property rights are violated, who will you run to? Your opinion is based in bitterness for your fellow man, and your bitterness trumps their rights. I have admired some of your postings here for a while, but maybe you should go to DU for a while to get a good idea of what trail you are on with this argument.

I can sympathize with you for not wanting to be around smoke, but that is your choice. You can choose not to do business in those places, just like smokers can choose to go where they are welcome. Taking the rights of a business owner to run their business as they see fit, and using your own selfish desires as justification is the kind of power-trip socialism that I always thought FR was against...JFK

What about YOUR childish attitude trying to impose YOUR needs above those of a PRIVATE BUSINESS OWNER! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
