DO NOT ENTER THIS THREAD!!!! It will contain vulgar materials in moments. We have a disrupter on the forum. We have alerted the management and they will be taking down some very inappropriate materials ASAP. This is more than likely a federal crime. It will be reported. I appologize on behalf of the forum management. Sadly, there are some pretty sick people out there. DoughtyOne

WILL_ZURMACHT WROTE: "...even something as simple as a 1 dollar sign up fee. then stuff like this could be tracked based on billing info."

That is a REAL GOOD point! Or make a rule that only "FINANCIAL DONORS/SUPPORTERS" can post, with a minimum "donation" of $1.

In any event, the TRACKING would be in place and maybe the guy's CREDIT HISTORY can be affected if he seriously violates the rules and/or the law.

See you just broke two rules and haven't a clue.

1. You didn't "curtesy ping me" while referring to me by name. It's a curtesy any freeper with dignity follows.

GUESS WHAT- It's NOT writen anywhere.

2. You made a judgement on my posting of a naked fat chick, but your ignorance of the thread gives you the ability to decide what is apropriate. That thread happened to be about NAKED FAT CHICKS!!! Although my post was extreme, it got zotted and I gave JimRob a donation! (Guess who called the mod, ME!!)

You have become ignorant in your quiry. Obviously you need a better, more organized, highly moderated, well spelled out, and highly limited board for your perusal. This way your questions will be answered in writing for you to ponder your next intrusion.

Go to Law school! Your a natural.

Be gone.

I was making a (rather sophmoric) reference to the "artwork" that was posted earlier this morning by leather_pride . . .

Bwaha! That was the picture I was trying to avoid describing earlier in this thread.

Not exactly "the pause that refreshes", eh?

Can't charge a fee or accept ads and still keep not-for-profit status. This has been discussed before.

Many of the finest freepers have left, either been banned, or got bored.

*Yawn*

If that is true, why are YOU still here?

Why don't you go ahead and post whatever it is you want to post and let US be the judge of whether it should be pulled or not.

Or do you believe you have a God given right to post anything you want on FR, whether it offends anybody or not?

Most of your replies parallel what I've read almost word-for-word on the anti-freeper sites

You, of course, are referring to these people, right?

Many of the finest freepers have left, either been banned, or got bored.

Oh, see.....I evidently missed all the "fun" XBob thinks you all were having this morning, so I didn't get your reference.

Sorry!

"You didn't "curtesy ping me" while referring to me by name."

Apparently, he only follows "written rules." So much for common courtesy.

Give him a break now; he's only been here FIVE YEARS. And I'm almost POSITIVE this is the very first time this has EVER been discussed on FR. / sarcasm off.

We need an "ignor" feature/option!

How about it John? :-) Can the software handle it?

I know I've got a few so aggravated at me they would love it.

HELLINAHANDCART RESPONDED TO ME: "Can't charge a fee or accept ads and still keep not-for-profit status. This has been discussed before."

I must have missed previous discussions about it.

Is there a reason why FR couldn't require a "donation" (however big or small) to post to "support" FR and offset expenses? Since FR CAN take "donations," it seems like it could require a minimal one to post to help offset costs. I'm not a lawyer (and I don't play one on TV) so I have no idea about the legal aspects of such a suggestion.

Obviously you need a ... well spelled ... board

He won't get that from your post, Joe. If you're gonna rag on somebody, at least try to limit your misspellings ... please?

Donations are voluntary. Requiring a fee is different.

It might also mean a difference in the way articles are posted, if FR were to CHARGE people to read and discuss them here. I'm not a lawyer either, but I don't think that's compatible with "Fair Use".

Those 'actors' would be Boy Scout troop leaders if the James Dales of the world get their way . . .

Those pictures spoke volumes concerning the mindset of those individuals who rail against FreeRepublic for all of it's perceived abuses of the sacrosanct freedom of opinion and expression. leather_pride actually did FreeRepublic a favor by posting those pictures. It served to underscore just how far gone some of her enemies are.

I'd just like to tell leather_pride to take his/her diversity, tolerance and multiculturalism and shove THAT up the old man's ass instead. Oh, and don't use so much soap the next time . . .

Educate me...I don't see it??

You are correct, if I'm gonna rag I should spell "rag" properly. :-)

LOL! That was my thought too but I wasn't going to say it.

HELLINAHANDCART WROTE: "Donations are voluntary. Requiring a fee is different."

I see your point. However, it's one thing to allow people to READ the posts, but if they are to POST themselves, then they are literally taking up server space, costing money (even though a single post would be miniscule).

Surely there is a way for FR to require some minimal amount of money---e.g. $1--- to get a TRACEABLE FINANCIAL SOURCE to ensure "security" or "identity" or whatever it might be called. The $1 could be a ONE-TIME amount, NOT a repeated fee/donation/amount every time someone wanted to post---just to get that TRACEABLE info on record.
