Are You A Democrat? Take This Test To Find Out!

Virtually anyone can be a Democrat; just simply quit thinking and vote that way; but, if you want to be a GOOD Democrat, there are some necessary prerequisites. Compare the list below and see how you rate:
1. You have to believe the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
2. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
3. You have to believe that guns, in the hands of law-abiding Americans, are more of a threat than U. S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of the Chinese communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no "Art" before Federal funding.
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by yuppies driving SUVs.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial; but, being homosexual is natural.
7. You have to be against capital punishment but support abortion on demand.
8. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists from our cities do.
10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
11. You have to believe the military, not corrupt politicians start wars.
12. You have to believe the NRA is bad, because it supports certain
parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.
13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, General Robert E. Lee or Thomas Edison.
15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides aren't.
16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is really a lady.
17. You have to believe that the only reason Socialism hasn't worked anywhere its been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and sex offender belongs in the White House.
19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites and bestiality should be constitutionally protected and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
20. You have to believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the Chinese is somehow in the best interest of the United States.
P. S. There really isn't anything very "democratic" about the Democrat Party. Think about that!

Gloria Steinem is just an aging twit whose fifteen minutes of fame were used up decades ago.
Just curious, what specifically did they do to tick you off and concider them on the fringe? Just curious.
For starters, Harry Browne's carping post 9/11. I had (and still have) many reservations about what I've called "Fortress America" in the post-9/11 world. We certainly have done some strange and creative things with the interpretation of Constitutional freedoms, some rightly, some wrongly. I fully expected and supported Browne's (and the LP's) statements in that direction.
But when Browne began to speak of capitulation in the face of the attacks, and to talk about curtailing the War on Terror, I had to give pause. After hearing enough of it, I began to get angry. Not long after, the "blue" candiate out in Montana popped up on television. Then came the spitting incident in California.
On top of it all, came the local LP's constant whining and interloping in races here; to the point of potentially sending some seats over to the Democrats, had their efforts not been in vain.
When all of things came together, the answer - at least to me - became more clear. It was obvious that the LP was not the place for me, and was not the place where I could effectively bring conservatism more solidly into the mainstream of middle class black America. There are others who feel otherwise, Larry Elder most prominent among them. I just can't do it.
The LP appears, to me, to be as far out on the fringe as the LaRouches and the Greens and the Perots and some of the other fringe groups. I'm sure there are some here who might be able to present some compelling arguments. And while I certainly support many libertarian (little 'L') principles, nothing I've seen of late has been compelling enough to make me change my mind.
Harry Browne is not the LP. And now he is essentially out of the picture. So going forward, I don't concider that a problem even though I had some problems with some of what he said.
Two, the LP exists to elect it's own and defeat those with whom it doesn't agree, so the fact that they defeat Republicans seems to ring hollow for me.
Third, if you have a problem with a specific candidate's postitions, you should address them, not the color of his skin, even if that color is blue.
Fourth, if we are going to judge a party poorly because of a candidate who they repudiated and kicked out of the party we would need to suggest what else they could have done. Also, candidates of other parties should be judged by the same standard, and their parties should be concidered fringe because of it as well, in order to be consistent. Duke etc come to mind.
And last, to be fringe, you have to have fringe ideas, which ones are they that make them fringe in your opinion?
