Former Blaine City Council member David White has started a petition to recall U.S. Sen. Patty Murray from office for comments she made recently about terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

White said he will begin circulating the petition soon and will ask the Whatcom County Republican Party to solicit signatures, then present the petition to federal officials.

You obviously have not been around here long enough to recognize sarcasm when you see it. Go out and find a sense of humor, then come back.

Yes, it is no secret that Patty is not too swift. However, I just about lost my lunch when I saw that Maria Can't-Vote-Well was listed as one of the best to see in a swimsuit. I'm sorry, but I feel ill just saying that.

Thank you for the post and for the link to this in the article I posted earlier this morning that seems to be one of todays hot topics.

Obviously, it is a slow news day.

Not wanting to horn in here....but 'reality' needs to pay you a visit, judgeandjury. Sometimes checking your facts before spouting can eliminate that nasty taste of toe-jam.

If I got angry and started recalling every politician that said stupid, dumb, false and pathetic thing every liberal would be out of office and quite a few GOP folks as well.

Why not recall many of them.

We might get better politicians!!!

Here's a link to another FR thread on Murray. Click here. The letter to the ed at the top of the thread is what really gets to me. Murray should be made to stand in front of that wall at the State Department until she apologizes to the families of these folks and to the nation.

*I'd be happy to sign the petition because she is a lousy * *Senator who doesn't represent me well. *
*But, I think what she said is being overblown *

I think that you might be missing the point regarding your Senator. Senator Lott was absolutely ROASTED ALIVE by the press overreaction to his stupid, insensitive and hurtful comment, meanwhile Ms Murray gets a free pass for her stupid, insensitive and hurtful comments.

I think that the citizens of this nation and the posters on this board are looking to see if the press villifies regardless of your ideological flavor, or if you are MORE EQUAL than others if you are of the correct ideological leaning.

What we would REALLY like to do is to demonstrate that in spite of what the mainstream press tries to say... WE DO CARE. And a really good demonstration would be a fully populated petition from her state and her district.

Or maybe you did get that and I am preaching to the choir.

Joe Biden for one, I'm sure I can find more if I look. There will be no clarion call for Murray to resign. Nor should she, it is a matter for the voters in her state as to how much stipidity they are willing to put up with.

I'm not into PC speech codes or penalizing thought inferrence from either side of the aisle except for at the polls.

In a statement last Friday, Murray said Vance and other critics were twisting her words. Her spokesman called the senator a victim of a right-wing media machine.

She said it. That's the most important thing. She spoke from her heart, right?
That's the new rules, via left wing democrats. Don't blame us for it.

I'm looking into what Congressman Billybob said about thelegalities. In any case, I agree with you that we should keep up the heat. But it is indeed amazing to see the difference between this and Lott and the crushing power of the lying liberal mainstream press. They are rotten all the way through and need to be made irrelevant.

**I don't believe you have to be a WA resident to be allowed an opinion/vote on this. Just MHO.**

I took this post to mean that a petition was being readied for circulation and signatures for the recall of Patty Murray as senator from the state of Washington and in the state of Washington.

Did I misread and is this an electronic petition?

If it is, I will gladly sign it. In fact I have signed one already.

What did Biden say specifically to defend Taliban Murray?

Democrats like Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE), on the other hand, were quick to defend her statements as simply a ''very bad choice of words.''

Sound familiar?

"''very bad choice of words.''

Interesting. Has Taliban Murray renounced or apologized for her "very bad choice of words", or has her spokesperson simply claimed instead that her words are being twisted by a right-wing media conspiracy?

Does Biden care?

She is up for re-election in 04. That's the place to get rid of her. If she resigned now the Washington State Democrat govenor (Gary Locke) would get to name her replacement.

I don't like his politics at all but I think Gary Locke would app't someone much more electable than Patty Murray.

No, Biden doesn't care and I'm not going to defend some marxist idiot from the left coast.

That was my point, not only don't they care, there are lots of them who agree with her.

She isn't going anywhere and the the only time people resign is when they are pressured to do so from within their party, which is another of my original points, and that ain't happening.
