Of course, the rationale for this condemnation of Linda was that President Clinton's infractions were merely sexual, and that a man is almost expected to lie in order to protect the reputation of the woman. Does anyone believe that the President lied in order to protect Monica's reputation? Or did he lie to protect his own reputation? I think the latter deserves more credence. People always seem to forget that the Great Capo, bill clinton, had a habit of first using his women, then ruining them, and that means ruining them as insane stalkers or whatever it takes. Also, as I recall, Linda Tripp was told not so subtly that such things as the death of cats can happen to women, too, and women's kids. I would like to know what Linda could do for protection for herself and her family except get out on the table what she knew so as to eliminate the need for her to be eliminated.

This should be sent as a letter to the editors of Time- although I doubt it would be printed.

What I never understood is how people could blame this woman for gathering evidence..... she literally feared for her life! Someone leaves a list of dead people on her chair...and through Monica (via Klinton)-- basically told her to lie under oath or be on the list (Clinton Casualty list)! How can they blame her?

Well said Jim. Linda Tripp was villafide in Time Magazine time and time again, by the way they presented her. Never was she defended. Time, I predict will soon slip into the obscure history of one time important news publications. Its well on its way to that end, now.

For anyone with any sense of decency and honor, so much of the past ten years have been sheer Hell. You have persevered.
Not all of us could have done that.
Happy New Year 2003. In 1993, The Things From Arkansas went the Washington, D.C. Things are better there, now.

A Threatening Phone Call from Clinton During grand jury questioning of Blumenthal, a prosecutor explored a call Clinton made to Lewinsky informing her of the death of Betty Currie's brother.
The grand jury exchange follows:
Q. You did testify that the President told [you] that he called Monica Lewinsky on at least one occasion when Betty Currie's brother died? A. Right
Q. And did he state whether or not that was before or after Monica Lewinksy threatened to expose an affair with the President?
A. I have no idea.
Q. OK. Did it seem unusual to you that the President was essentially making a call on behalf of his secretary?
A. No, not at all. Not at all. The president often calls people and they're surprised. ...

Thanks very much for reminding us how trashy, and distorted
TIME magazine is. It's as crooked as bill and hillary clinton are.

The moral part of Clinton pales in comparison to the potential for blackmail from every corner of the world, which that awful president, her husband, and many others, were willing to accept in order to retain their power.
Linda Tripp makes these other whistle blowers look like schoolyard tattletales in comparison.
A happy new year to all!
