This is it folks, the place where we all gather 'round once a year to prognosticate about the year to come, for the sole purpose of hopefully being able to come back and gloat in 365 days.

So without further adieu, I'll get it started:

1) Hillary Clinton will not become president in 2003.

1) Moon Landing Hoax: Russian space probe will do close flyby of moon's surface looking for evidence of Apollo debris and find none further bolsters the belief in the hoax.

Russian probe will photograph Apollo debris but photographs will be denounced as fakes by Moon Hoax Tinfoilers. "NASA obviously paid off Putin to keep the secret", well known Foilmeister Bart Sibrel will state.

our armed forces will get tied up in iraq and the middle east for a longer time than anticipated

a war with north korea will begin around the 2nd to 3rd quarter of the year

china will become involved shortly after and will deliver a nuclear blow to taiwan in 2003

Israel, The USA, and Britain will suffer nuclear events by the hand of obl and his followers

russia will get involved as an ally of china and will deliver a nuclear blow to The USA, Israel and England

Hong Kong stock market will crash

saddam will unleash potent biological weapons here in The USA that will cause many deaths

there will be an assasination of a world leader

Venezuela will align strongly with russia and china and will curtail oil output to The USA

Copied over from the other thread. I find it frustrating when people say "Billthedrill, you're a fool and a complete moron" and can't offer proof. So here's proof:

1. German government will fall over no-confidence vote engendered by higher taxation and reduced benefits spending. Greens out of new coalition.

2. Chavez out in Argentina. Coalition government will take over, will fall by year's end.

3. Saddam Hussein will experience a nasty accident.

4. North Korea will fail at extorting new aid from U.S., will attempt to do so from UN. UN will offer aid in return for inspectors, which NK will keep on a short leash.

5. Riots spread in Iran but no revolution - yet.

6. Attempted Wahhabi putsch in Saudi Arabia will cause factional fighting for control of successor government.

7. More fighting in Chechneya.

8. Islamic fundamentalists will attempt unsuccessfully to gain control of Pakistan government.

9. General decline in value of Euro - (wild guess) - $0.80 US. General gain in U.S. GDP - 3.5%. Oil stabilizing at $36-40 a barrel. (I'm gonna pay for this one).

10. BtD stripped of Mr. Universe title due to steroid use. Claims it was only acne medication.

3. There will be 1-2 more tourists on the ISS

1. The American and British real estate bubbles will begin to deflate. Foreclosures will soar. The GSEs will experience significant stress: Freddie Mac will outperform Fannie Mae but both will falter if not implode. Lower interest rates are more likely to harm the GSEs than high interest rates.

2. Oil prices will skyrocket and then stabilize during our intervention in the Middle East.

3. The tech sector's earnings will stabilize and make gains.

4. Kissinger will experience foreign and perhaps domestic legal problems.

5. Crime rates will increase.

6. High profile businesses will begin to leave California.

7. Germany, France and England will experience social unrest if not domestic terrorism.

8. Nuclear power will become increasingly desirable as propane costs soar, and wind and solar are exposed as fraudulent.

9. No progress will be made in HIV research. Progress may be made in AIDS research.

10. Gold will break through $400. The independence of the Fed may be threatened by Congress or the President.

11. Cash strapped state governments will begin to sell off assets.

12. Systemic financial risk and contagion. There is no way to tell if it will be tractable until it actually happens.

13. Inflation of the money supply but this will not effect the deflation of certain assets such as real estate. Price instability will likely result. Monetary theory will likely be revised with a bias against both Monetarism and Keynesianism.

14. Increasing political polarization, social fragmentation and social experimentation.
