Dear Fellow Oregonians;
The United Way of America, a supposed charitable organization has a donation designation No. 2574 for the Brady Center. After contacting the local United Way Chapter, we were informed that this is a national donation number. What this means its that even though the local United Way Chapters say they are not using this donation number, the National United Way Organization does use it.
How do these donations effect you and your fellow Oregonians? Once the Brady Center receives these donated funds they can be distributed to any location within the United States, including Oregon.
The Oregon Council on Firearm Rights is asking you to make your charitable donations to local organizations other than the United Way in protest of United Way of America soliciting funds for the Brady Center. The Brady Center, an organization that would remove yours and every Americans civil right to armed self defense.
If you would like to receive a list of local charitable organizations that need your donations please contact me at the numbers below.
Sincerely;
Communications Coordinator
Oregon Council on Firearm Rights

It has been some years since I stopped donating to UW. I asked local UW officials, "what was the effect of designating a charity?" In a word their answer was, "the dollar
with my name on it went to the charity but the final size of that charity's pile of money and the relative sizes of all charities' was determined by UW's administration." We were told that nothing we could do would change what a charity received.
The conspiracy of ignorance masquerades as common sense.

I figured out a way to do charitable work without the hassle of wondering where my money went. I donate my time, give blood or help out friends who need help. I stopped giving money to groups that use only a percentage in order to qualify as a charitable organization.
Some groups are only required by the state to give as little as 5% after administration costs.

Sure there is, stop donating altogether. They can't distribute what they don't get.

I quit donating to the United Way years ago. I heard about some of the groups they give money to and got sick to my stomach. I was a department rep in the hospital I worked at. I told them why I would no longer be helping on the membership drives or donating my money anymore, they didn't care

Where have you been? The United Way has been a front for the gun-grabbers for a long time.

Did'ja miss my
first sentence? Worse, in spite of my best efforts such as CORE and COBRA and various other 'racist' charities still sap tax monies.
