Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 Anyone Who Questions Sen. Murray Is 'Right-Wing Hater'
Left-wing Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., is not as wimpy as Republicans are when they're caught saying something naughty. She and her handlers are defending her praise of Osama bin Laden's supposed good deeds.
"Having a challenging and thoughtful discussion about Americas [sic] future reflects the best values of a free democracy [sic]; to sensationalize and distort in an attempt to divide is not," she said in statement today.
Murray's spokesman, Todd Webster, fumed, "This is being turned into a circus by the right-wing media outlets and fed by right-wing haters."
He must be thinking of the Democrat left-wing media outlets and left-wing haters who are accusing all Republicans and white Southerners of being "racist."
Asked if he included GOP state Chairman Chris Vance in that category, Webster said: "Absolutely. I include Vance and the right-wing media and the right-wing establishment."
Vance had said earlier, "It is absolutely outrageous and despicable to imply that the American government should learn a lesson from the madman who murdered thousands of American citizens."
Murray's comments "sent the message to these students that the United States somehow deserved or brought on the September 11 terrorist attacks," Vance said. "I think all decent people can agree that we most certainly did not, that this was an unprovoked attack of terrorism."
Webster claimed that Murray's comments were intended to get students to think about America's role in the world and why bin Laden is popular in many poor countries.
"This was not a dossier of the great works of Osama bin Laden. This is about how do we secure a better and stronger future for this country?" Webster said. "Do we close our doors and hunker down, or do we engage the rest of the world?"
In her statement, Murray is now dubbing bin Laden not a do-gooder but "an evil terrorist." She recalled that, oh yeah, he caused the deaths of thousands of Americans.
"While we continue to search every corner of the globe to destroy Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda network, should we also consider the longer-term issue of what else can be done to improve relations with all nations including the Arab world?" Murray asked. "How else can we bring America's values to those who do not understand us?"
'What Country' Is She From?
As for those who do not understand Murray:
Rep. George Nethercutt, R-Wash., a possible Senate opponent in 2004, called her comments "bizarre" and uninformed. "You have to wonder what country Sen. Murray has been living in since September 11th," he said.
Murray "seems to know more about Osama bin Laden's generosity and kindness than she does his hatred for America and his vow to destroy our country," Nethercutt said.
He called for a debate with Murray on bin Laden and other topics.
"I'm sure Washington state voters would like to hear more of Senator Murray's very strange view of America and the world," the congressman noted.
Angry readers have flooded the Web site of the Columbian, the Vancouver, Wash., newspaper that originally reported Murray's controversial remarks.
"Several readers said Murray should resign and pointed out that Senate Republican Leader Trent Lott lost his post when he made comments widely considered improper," the Associated Press reported.

Patty Murray couldn't have become senator or even dog-catcher in 1800. Washington's grey squirrel population, which outnumbered democRATs at that time, would have been too intelligent to elect her.

The left has been using the same playbook for so long where they pretend all of America's enemies are just misunderstood liberal democrats that they don't see how stupid it looks when they try to apply it to Islamo-fascists. They said Ho Chi Mihn was just a misunderstood democrat who wanted elections. Fidel just wanted to give the Cuban people healthcare and shcools. Ditto the Sandinistas, Mugabe, etc. So she just plugged the old blame America first rhetoric into our war against the sand-Nazis and suddenly OBL is building day-care centers. The woman is an idiot.

It's too late to try and understand the terrorists hatred for Americans...talking is over and now they are going to have to answer for their evil deeds. I want justice for all of those who were MURDERED on 9/11! We can't have peace until these murderers are caught and held accoutable....Americans wanted the snipers caught for shooting people, so why would we want any less justice for our fellow Americans who died on 9/11?

Patty Murray has contempt for the citizens of America. After all, they must be stupid. They elected her to high office.
She is sick in the head, fantasizing that Osana bin Ladin is beloved by poverty people throughout the world for his innumerable acts of generosity, establishing day care centers and buidling health care facilities--all of which exist only in her dreams, not in reality. She's deluded. She's nutz. She needs a long rest in an Afghan funny farm.

Did you catch my favorite line in this article "In her statement, Murray is now dubbing bin Laden not a do-gooder but 'an evil terrorist.' She recalled that, oh yeah, he caused the deaths of thousands of Americans." This DIM CHICK makes Trott look like a genius.

She's unoriginal. Rightwing hater is just like Hilary's "vast right wing conspiracy".

This is being turned into a circus by the right-wing media outlets and fed by right-wing haters."Sic! Page One of the Demonrat playbook. When you say/do something stupid/offensive (like have an intern play with your Little Crooked Slick Willy in the White House) don't admit it and take personal responsibility for your actions... blame the evil Republicans.

Patty Murray, emnemy of the state, must not be allowed to continue as a lawmaker. It may be hard to get her out of the Senate before her next election, but the DemocRAT caucus decides whether she stays on the powerful Appropriations Committee. Maybe they should be motivated to vote her off that committee.

I wonder how often this spokesman -- or the media in general, for that matter -- talks about "left-wing haters."
