Ford launches Jaguar ads to target gay buyers ("Life is full of twists. Care for a partner?")

In an unusual move for a U.S. automaker, Ford Motor Co.'s Jaguar brand is launching an advertising campaign targeting gay consumers, the company said Tuesday.

The campaign germinated from a major internal study at Ford and Jaguar on how to reach gay consumers, which tend to be fairly affluent with a taste for luxury goods. Ford estimates there are some 14 million gay and lesbian consumers in the United States who wield $450 billion in purchasing power.

From the looks of the ad they are trying to keep it under the radar, subtle enough for people who aren't looking for it to miss entirely.

Let them sell cars to anyone they want however they want...

Folks often buy cars for their image, among other considerations. If Jaguar and/or Ford cultivates a homosexual image, will that help or hinder sales to normal people?

And how will declining profits on the altar of homosexual political correctness affect shareholders? Own any Disney stock?

Inverts are more affluent than normal people, but it really depends on what age they are.

The study madg cited is flawed for two main reasons:

(1) It is full of unsubstantiated assertions about the statistics it uses - for example, on Page 21, the study (sponsored by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force) says without footnoting or substantiation that female inverts work longer hours than non-perverted women do.

Why does the study say that - because it is confronted with hard data that show that female inverts outearn normal women. Faced with a datapoint that clashes with their thesis, the Task Force explains it away with a nonstatistic made up on the spot.

(2) The study focuses relentlessly on total income. The issue is not total income - the older a person is, the more money they are likely to earn. Due to diseases of personal choice like AIDS, many sodomites never make it to their 50s.

The issue is disparity in disposable income. Men and women with spouses and children have far less disposable income than individuals whose only responsibilities are instantaneous self-gratification.

The average college graduate and the average college graduate who spends his spare time prowling bathhouses start off with the same general amount of disposable income.

I've always been a GM man but I would consider buying a Ford...until now. NO WAY WILL I EVER BUY A FORD PRODUCT!!!!
No Fords, Lincolns, Mercurys, or Mazdas. And even if I could afford a Jaguar I would promptly go to the nearest Jag dealer with checkbook in hand, tell them that I wanted to buy a Jag but that I can't support their pro-homosexual marketing. Then I'd head straight (no pun intended) for the Cadillac dealer. God bless The General!!

Now, given that so many car commercials are filmed and photographed around scenic parts of San Francisco where much of Ford's target consumers reside, can you just visualize an ad featuring a photo of a Jag (Fag?) parked in front of a picturesque public restroom facility in Golden Gate Park? Guaranteed to send throngs of them to the Jaguar dealership (a limpwristed stone's throw from Castro Street in San Francisco, by the way!)
