"Well said."
No, more race-baiting drivel.

Yah, I've heard that story that Tancredo didn't know. I believe that about as much as I would believe you if you told me that you didn't know the busboy was an illegal. Or that all the busboys are illegal.
To: 4Freedom
No, the real story is about the labor shortage in this country.
To: madfly
The Republican party is way too politically correct to be outraged. It's a sell out........
To: Ben Ficklin
There's no shortage of labor when employers will pay what the job is worth to an American worker.
The TSA had 1.5 MILLION applicants for the 72,000 jobs they wanted to fill.
You really don't have a clue do you, Sherlock?

Hmm. Most curious. Which parts of the Declaration or the Constitution do you consider "race-baiting drivel"? Or is it that I remarked that those rights are colorblind and can apply to anyone who subscribes to them along with the attendant responsibilities that bothers you? Perhaps you'd care to explain just which of those rights or which of those colors should be excluded. What does your idealized version of America look like, then?

>>Yah, I've heard that story that Tancredo didn't know.<<
This story against Tancredo wouldn't stand up in a court of law in this country. Bring out the accusors and have them show thier faces.

Show me the high unempolyment rates over the last decade.
Using the job openings at the TSA is a poor proof for the simple reason that it is a relatively high paying job for the skills required. Everybody and their dog applied.

All the more reason to believe that some folks in D.C. are behind some of things going on there....
If September 11, 2001 had actually been pulled of by a 20-odd "Illegal Aliens" - then all borders would have been summarily sealed - -- - period.
That, by any source available, has yet to have happened.

I wonder how many Americans want these poor paying jobs? Take a look at the unemployment stats and news of layoffs sometime - my guess is, a helluva lot.

I agree. What amazes me is that Mr. Sweeney, head of the AFL-CIO, wants to grant amnesty to illegals so he can organize them. This goes against every thing the Labor movement in this country was about ( supply and demand ).
The Democrats figure that they can buy thier votes with welfare, etc. The Democrats will destoy this country if this keeps up.

I can't fathom why Bush, Cheney, Colin Powell, Ashcroft, and all those in Congress are not doing daily press conferences, alerting Americans to the invasion that has been, and continues to take place every single day of the year. You can't fathom it? Let me help you out:
Money and Votes. For the GOP it's mostly the former, and for the Dims it's mostly the latter (although there is some overlap). True bipartisanship.

Neither could I prove in a court of law that you( and I don't mean you specifically) knew that the busboy was an illegal. But we all know that he is.
You can be assured that Tancredo required the contractor to provide proof of insurance. Why didn't he require proof of citizenship. As you know, all employers in the US are required to ask for this proof.
When Tancredo let the job out for bid, why didn't his bid package specifically require citizenship of all men on the job.

Who on this thread doesn't believe most of what you said about
LEGAL IMMIGRANTS of any race or color, race-baiter? Name one Freeper. Go ahead, name one.
It's to ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that none of what you said applies.
You and Ficklin are both a couple of pathetic, white-hating, race-baiters.

The real reason nothing is done about illegal-immigration is that the corrupt two-party political system in Amerika has had their pockets lined with money from the pro-cheap labor/illegal immigrant lobby.
Companies across America increase their profitability many times over hiring workers who will work at less than half of what an average American would consider a fair wage.
Not only that, but the illegals don't complain about working 12-14 hour days and not getting paid time and a half for over-time...
Just like NAFTA and GATT, its just another goose-step towards legal slavery and abolishment of the middle-class.

The TSA is perfect proof that if you pay Americans what the job is worth, it will get done.
If a job doesn't pay what an American will do it for it shouldn't be created. We don't need more $5.00 an hour landscaping, fast food, hotel or agricultural jobs that can only be done by illegal aliens with no benefits package. Don't create them.
These businesses are only taking income and profit away from other pre-existing businesses and putting downward pressure on American wages.
That should be logical even to a race-baiter.

>>>Why didn't he require proof of citizenship. As you know, all employers in the US are required to ask for this proof.<<
According to the Denver Newspaper, the contractor said that everyone working for him had proof of citizenship or a green card. He suspected that if the illegals really existed, that they could have had false documents.
If you ever read the Stein Report at the F.A.I.R. web site, you would read about numerous arrest of illegals using forged and illegal documents.

Not so amazing. If the union cuts a deal with the employers to sell-out their present membership, so the employers can hire more workers than they have now at lower wages,
the unions collect more dues. I witnessed exactly this with a teamsters affiliated local over 20 years ago.
The employers get more cheap labor.
The unions collect more dues every month.
The union membership gets the royal shaft.

Could not agree more. High LEGAL immigration also drives wages down AND dilutes traditional Americans votes. Clinton/Gore used this trick in 1996. After big Republican wins in 1994, they known that the electorate was on to them so they have changed the electorate though high immigration.

I realize that you are not big on statistics but let me alert you to another one that you need to be aware of.
Census 2000 showed that growth in the Mexican population within the US was mainly the result of those already here expanding their families. Now obviously any legal and/or illegal immigration will accelerate the shift but even if all immigration, legal and illegal, were stopped, the browning of America will continue.
So if you, or anyone else, has a problem with mariachi music, lowriders, or spanish being spoken, I suggest you get some counseling and do what you can to get over it.
