FReeper Katze is having surgery today to have a cancerous tumor removed from her lung. She will be in the hospital for about a week. She will need our prayers.

This is a good place to stop.
The surgery revealed things not known, in spite of all tests. Seems I have a squamous cell tumor that was thought to be "resting" in an area that could removed along with the middle and lower lobes of my right lung. When the surgeon opened, he found the thing was growing outside my lung, and to remove he would have to take the entire lung, which I couldn't tolerate.
Now it will be up to radiation.
A greater problem surfaced--I'm apparently allergic, or have some other adverse reaction to morphine, not realized until days after. I thought I was being held against my will, a real and true nightmare.
I'll write more later. Home yesterday, feeling weak, and pain from broken ribs, but now wanting to get well enough to go to the next step, which will be radiation. Just wanted to drop in to thank everyone for your prayers and kind words, and Rokke is right, I'm a pretty old gal. ;-)

Katze, if you were 101 you'd still be more than a match for what you are facing. No one with your spirit is going to be brought down by a little radiation. Or even a lot. For Pete's sake, you've outlasted Rivero AND BeAChooser. As far as the morphine is concerned...I guess we can be sure you aren't a drug addict. Frankly, I prefer gin and tonics anyway.
You aren't in this fight alone. Don't forget the power we government shills have. And more importantly, you are in the comforting hands of God.

WOW! It's hard to believe that you are at the 'puter already! You must have a good constitution! If so, it will hold you well for the treatment ahead. I hope you get all the information you can on vitamins and such so that you will be able to put that 'constitution' to work.
My mother had an allergy to all opiates. She said it was like having a heart attack. Even cough syrup with codeine was a problem, so stay alert.
Prayers will continue, 'ole gal'. We're all pulling for you.
