I agree with the decision to part company with(ban)Former Lurker....I have no problem with those I disagree with around here ....disagreement is healthy ....but this person was attempting to proselyitize in an area (health) and I think that is dangerous. Anyone is free to disregard sound medical advice but they should not attempt to convince others, when the consequences can be so severe. I am no expert on medicine but I know someone who is very involved with smallpox and bio weapons and I take the threat seriously....Who knows for sure if we will be attacked but the recent actions of our government show they are concerned...I will get a vaccine if and when it becomes available I hope others will do the same

I was just saying to someone that I will get vaccinated only if and when there's an outbreak, but I would never discourage anyone from getting it beforehand "just in case", that's their decision to make. I also think that some of the hysterical anti-vaccination crowd had reasons for whipping up fears that had nothing to do with concerns for the nation's health...

Agree with all your points. Afraid Former Lurker will just re-enroll.

We are talking about a few deaths/million doses vs. a few survivors/million cases of Smallpox. The choice is obvious for me and my family...innoculate, ASAP.

If Former Lurker was banned, then that is a terrible shame. People will have differing opinions and should be allowed to express them. And FL is/was no dummy. If the banning of FL is true, then it's a sad day for FR. I guess if I don't want to be banned I better tow the line and agree with everything and everyone, gee, just like the old Soviet Union or Nazi Germany, they didn't like differences of opinion either.

"Anyone is free to disregard sound medical advice but they should not attempt to convince others, when the consequences can be so severe." There is a fine line between "public nuisance" and "public health risk".
Former Lurker obliterated it.
