If Former Lurker was banned, then that is a terrible shame. People will have differing opinions and should be allowed to express them. And FL is/was no dummy. If the banning of FL is true, then it's a sad day for FR. I guess if I don't want to be banned I better tow the line and agree with everything and everyone, gee, just like the old Soviet Union or Nazi Germany, they didn't like differences of opinion either.

No, it's more like "if you disagree, post real facts to support your argument instead of engaging in invective."

Oh please, all FL did was spam threads with the same psuedo-scientific BS over and over. Then he insulted people and went whining to the moderators when he got a taste of his own medicine. At best he was a nut job, at worst a liar. The only bad part about his banning is that it wasn't a total purge, they should have deleted every word he ever wrote on FR. All you've got to do to not get banned is to not be a lieing weasel who blatantly violates every written rule of the site.

Let me tell you something about Former Lurker. It's not his wacky opinions that got him banned, it was his tactics. FL had a habit of posting avalanches links to quack science, and he took any criticism of his so-called "evidence" very personally. He called people liars and un-patriotic, he would start FReepmailing his critics, and then would ping the Admin Moderators when his very thin skin was penetrated.
His anti-vaccination/anti-fluoridation was like a religion with him; if you disagreed, there was something wrong with you. He was one of the most intolerant of any FReeper. He was the old Soviet Union or Nazi Germany in the way he couldn't stand any disagreement.
