You will all be saying the same thing about him that you are about Trent Lott when Carville gets finsihed with him. So you want us to grovel in fear before Carville?
Hah! Not gonna happen.
Even Carville knows his limits, believe it or not. He is afraid of this White House...no one knows the power that can be weilded from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave any better than he does.

In the not-too-distant future, opposing reparations will disqualify anyone from holding office because it will be considered "racist" to hold that opinion. This whole situation with Lott and many conservatives being rolled by the black caucus shows how far we are along that road.
To: kcvl
Where the heck is Carville? Carville will be lucky to find a scrap on the floor by the time he finally decides to open his stupid fat trap.

"You, also, seem to be a racist. "
Sounds like you forgot your medications today. You should remove all sharp objects and cable news channels from your immediate proximity.

He should resign immediately and stay in the senate until his term is up and continue to be a loyal Republican (unless all along he has really been a segregationist Southern Democrat). He then should refrain from running again. There should be no room in the Republican Party for those with foot in the mouth disease.

They can confidently spit in their eye...and continue the process of driving the liberals from power under new leadership. I like the way you think, EV! :o)
Being the eternal optimist I am, I see this as a good thing. While there has been ridiculous overreaction by the left and by the media, and I doubt he is a racist, what Lott said was incredibly stupid, and at his age, and in his position, he should have known better.
He's a liability to the President and the Conservative cause. Good things will happen if he steps down from leadership.

I can understand Trent Lott admiting his previous beliefs and positions but he MUST stand on his principles and beliefs now. His remarks about supporting Affirmative Action as of TONIGHT was did it for me. You are either a conservative or you are not, And Affirmative Action is a policy that is what makes up the core of the left and their dis-belief in the American Dream. Nothing comes free and respect will never be a basic human right. Respect is something that must be earned. Affirmative Action flies in the face of self respect and the ability to earn it

That's not really true. Look at how Bush handled the attempts to paint him racist...... You mean as in 2000? The Democrats, NAACP, and the media was painting him as a bigot for executing black murderers? Like the NAACP ran ads showing James Byrd's sister saying when Bush didn't pass hate-crime legislation, she felt like her brother being murdered all over again?
Or how about Harry Belafonte calling Colin Powell and Condeleeza Rice has "Uncle Tom" blacks?
To: Owl_Eagle
Does anyone else see the irony in Lott going on BLACK Entertainment Television to apologize for making remarks that could be construed as segregationist? Not particularly. The segregation that Lott is being criticized for looking fondly on was government sponsored and enforced. Neither blacks nor whites had any say in it. Prior to the sixties, there were separate and unequal schools, separate water fountains, separate washrooms, etc. Also blacks were barred from eating inside restaurants or getting a room at a motel. Also blacks had to sit at the back of the bus and if a white person needed a seat they were expected to give up theres.
Anyone, however, can watch BET if it matches their interest and its available on their cable system. Its just the same as being able to watch Fox News, SciFi channel, MTV, or Sundance channel or whatever else piques your interest. Its a matter of free choice. Under segregation, you didnt have choice.

He looks like he is thinking to himself; "Lord, please just let me get out of here alive".
He was a fool to go on that program. I can hardly wait for his ouster.
To: puroresu
Although I had hoped Lott would do more with the opportunity, he took his lumps gracefully which was all he HAD to do.
Only if Lott is removed, which I think even less likely to happen after this scarification, will the PC-Dem-media Race-baiters have won.

Yep. They're going to attempt to paint racism on the Republicans with a broad brush. And, by the way it has worked so well with our bretheren here, it's going to work. Big time.
