He just said: "I've made mistakes, and I'm sure I'll make more". Someone the other day, when Trent was doing one of his early mea culpas, said he used the line, "build on our past mistakes"...but I never saw it confirmed by a tape or a transcript.
If true, that is just dumber than dumb rhetoric.

Lott is just pouring gasoline on the fire. This is going to cost us big time. Reparations are on the way.
To: Morrigan
Figures; the first time that Lott didn't that Lott doesn't stammer is to be forcefully in favor of affirmative action.

You know, this is just brutal....these stupid pics are not helping the situation. Although I'm jealous you are finding something funny in all this mess.

Did you expect anything different? No I guess not... are they running double or triple commercials for this ridiculous Xmas in mid December? I permanently deleted this trash TV channel from my system and had to go find out what the channel was. I deleted this like VH1 and Mtv.
This is ridiculous.

What gas on the fire? Perhaps you miss the point. If Lott's concern is about keeping power, this might just be the way to do it.

This is sad, Trent Lott should of told him that he has never been for Affirmative Action, It's a racist policy period!

Lott just said he favors affirmative action "across the board."
A perfect example of how he is willing to sell out the Republican agenda to save his own career. He must go.
To: steveegg
He is gone as ML after saying he is for affirmative action.
To: Hazzardgate
This is just horrible to watch..... Like a train wreck.
But I did just learn Lott is a practicing affirmative actionist.

Lott is just pouring gasoline on the fire. This is going to cost us big time. Reparations are on the way. God forbid, we'll be paying for this nonsense forever. We won't be able to afford a tax cut to get the country growing again to provide millions of jobs because of the debts of Trent to the Black Establishment Community.

You see, the purpose of HAVING a majority leader is to take care of these little problems Sorry. I do not know what you are talking about.
Context helps.
Copy and paste and whatnot.

Where are all the Lott defenders on FR? Speak up for new shining conservative knight.

It seems that Gordon keeps looking at the camera as if to say, "Do you believe ANY of this, folks???"

Lott just said he favors affirmative action "across the board." Lott will toss away the entire philosophy of the republican party to save his ass. This is pathetic.
It just proves what I thought. Lott needs to go. Affirmative action is wrong, but it is hard to get blacks to think republicans are honest about why they oppose it when you have people like Lott around. Instead of leaving, Lott is willing to throw out principle.

Hey, what is it with you?
You're slowing down the feed. How about knocking off the stupid pictures?
Give commentary if you want to do womething useful!

Lott:I'm for affirmative action
Ed:but, you didn't vote that way
Lott:I'm for affirmative action
Ed:you only have one black on your staff

If Lott's concern is about keeping power, this might just be the way to do it. Lott's problem being that it is not the CBC that votes on who is the Senate ML, of course.
