It's that time of year to start decorating the Canteen Christmas Tree.
We know from traffic stats from the Post Office that military lurkers come here daily.
They come to "escape" from the often dreary world they live in while ensuring our Freedom.
Many of our service men and women are experiencing their 1st Holiday Season away from home.
Will you take a few moments from your day today to post an ornament for the tree?
This may be cyberspace but know that military lurkers today will know they are not forgotten.

You're still awake?! LOL!! What can I say? So am I. Sorry I missed everyone tonight. I thought everyone was loooong gone by the time we got home so I've been experimenting with this 'puter. Trying to learn more things that can be done with it. I've got a looooong way to go with this thing. LOL!!!!!

Yep, still here. Did you have fun at the party?
To: Kathy in Alaska
The party was fun. You get a bunch of car nuts together and things can get crazy. And it was all done sober. No alcohol was served.
My poor hubby hasn't been able to drink for weeks since he was on all that medication for that grunge that ate him up, literally. He's off all meds now and wanted a couple of drinks so we stopped by our fave little place for a bit. Then we came home. (Yes, I drove home.) It was so late by then I figured all were gone so I sat here and finally figured out how to use our scanner. These new-fangled contraptions are a little over my head but, by golly, I figured it out! LOL!!

Good for you, learning the scanner. I'm not there yet. Maybe some day. My hands are pretty full these days.

I'm
flying going through the thread and just spotted these photos you posted. You find all kinds of goodies, from overseas and stateside. You've become quite the scrounger! (applause)
I really need to improve my scrounging skills.

Yes, yes, and YES!!
To: Kathy in Alaska
LOL!!! I figured you would be. You had to wait long enough for it this year.
We've been just barely warm enough during this wet spell to keep us from having snow. We're supposed to have highs in the mid-to-upper 50's the next few days. That's gonna feel like summertime!! I'm ready for it!! Right this moment, it's 27, though. AAAARGH!!!

It's 22° right now. You've got some cold going on. Redhead and Aeronaut, both somewhere's in Minnesota said they don't have any snow. Strange year.
To: Kathy in Alaska
Wow! Minnesota is bare, too? I haven't heard from my aunt, who also lives up there, in a little while and didn't realize they didn't have snow. This is a strange winter, huh?
We get pretty chilly down here but haven't had much in the way of snow in a while now. Just little dustings two or three times each winter. Suits me!!
Right now, the frost is heavy enough outside it looks like a dusting of snow. brrrrrrr!

WHAAAAT?? They can't say "Christmas" in Sacramento schools?? This is getting ridiculous! No, it's already beyond ridiculous!
I love this country but there are some things that are starting to really steam me. Add this one to the list.

Great show. The one boat turned turtle and righted itself. It made my knees hurt to see the pounding they took.

Here's your sign!
"The drunk escorted them to the garage and inside was - a highway patrol car, the blue lights still flashing."
