Tri-State NY NJ CT Freeper Holiday Party

  This landmark location, built in 1897, was formally an inn and later became St. George's Chapel during the Depression in 1929. St. George's Chapel catered to the local merchants and residents, which were mostly of Syrian Catholic descent. This area came to be known as "Little Syria." In 1979 the church retired, and the Moran family acquired and converted the site and began operating on December 26, 1986.

  Currently it is beautifully decorated for the holidays!

  You can find the current ping list on my home page and I will update it with all who show interest. That list is not a list of all who are attending but right now we have over 35 confirmed.

  • Mesclun Salad with Moran’s Italian Dressing

  Second Course –(

  • Sheperd’s Pie
  • Chicken Marsala Tender breast of chicken sautéed in Marsala wine & topped with mushrooms
  • Salmon Wellington Salmon steak surrounded by wild rice, mushrooms and tarragon in a pastry shell covered with a beurre blanc

  All served with side dishes buffet style so you can have all 3!

  Dessert

  • A Selection of Moran's House Desserts
  • Tea & Coffee

  Beverages

  • Unlimited Sodas

  Price:

  • 29.95 per person, plus taxes (8.25 %) & gratuities (20 %)

  • ********Final cost will be $40 per person CASH, (to make my life easier)
  • Any left over funds will be donated to Free Republic.

I have to cut off snail mail tomorrow as I wont get them in time due to the holidays. SO if you need to make this arrangement contact me tonight or tomorrow.

Also if you had confirmed that you will attend in the past and will no longer be attending please freepmail me so I can correct my count. Let me know if you are bringing guests ect. I really want the count as close as possible so they dont scimp on the food.

The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) has put the designs on display at the Wintergarden. Someone suggested on an earlier thread that the Wintergarden was the place to go to view Ground Zero. Is anyone up for going to the Wintergarden to see the potential designs for the redevelopment of the site? If you follow the link to Civic Alliance, you can get a survey form and then submit your opinion as to the designs.
