This landmark location, built in 1897, was formally an inn and later became St. George's Chapel during the Depression in 1929. St. George's Chapel catered to the local merchants and residents, which were mostly of Syrian Catholic descent. This area came to be known as "Little Syria." In 1979 the church retired, and the Moran family acquired and converted the site and began operating on December 26, 1986.
Currently it is beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Sorry about the delay on this post. I got that stupid Norwalk virus along with my son Wednesday night and havent been able to do much of anything.
Paypal is working well and thanks to those of you who have already prepaid.
I have a list of parking garages in the area and that will be posted soon on this thread for those of you who inquired.

Parking garages at zip code 10006 which is Moran's zip.
Edison Parking - 140 Liberty St. 791-5488
Edison Parking - 70 Greenwich St. 425-1065
Then I checked for Lower Manhattan near Washington St. and came up with these:
Greenwich Parking 438 Greenwich St. 274-9883
Greenwich Street Parking - 377 Greenwich St. 431-4714
Jordan Parking - 415 Washington St. - 226-7437
Katz Parking 308 Greenwich St. - 267-1580
Thanks to Stanz for looking these up! I suppose you can call for prices and such if you are going to use a parking garage and report back to us.

To: alisasny
There is a good chance I'll be able to make it. I'll know better a week from now.

What a superb job! Thank you so much for all you have done to make this party happen.
The 1 and 9 trains let you off closer to Moran's than the R and the N. You just walk one block west to Washington Street and hang a right, and it's right there, a few doors in. The R and the N leave you off two blocks away from the same right turn.

Thanks for the ping. I am sorry I will not be able to make it. I thought I was going to be able to and I was looking forward to meeting all of the area FReepers but as it turns out we have plans on that day. Everything sounds delicious and I know this is a great time that I am going to miss. If I could be there I would.
Have an awesome time everyone and hopefully there will be another get together, in the future, that my wife and I will be able to attend.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!!!

Great job! I love Moran's.
I'll be there, but the wife will not. (some of her family will be in town that day.) My brother ("No Left Turn") will probably be attending also.

Contacted Edison Parking at 70 Greenwich St. They charge $12-15 to park on Saturday for the hours of 12PM to 5. The phones listed for Edison Parking at 140 Liberty Street, Greenwich Parking at 438 and 377 Greenwich St came back as being out of service but I want to try them again on Monday. There was no asnwer at Jordan Parking and I couldn't understand the guy at Katz Parking.
If you use a garage, be sure to tell them how long you want to stay and ask the charges.
