I received the 2002 Whitehouse Christmas card (postmarked Crawford, Tx.) and wanted to share it with any and all.
No.
Do I have your permission to use that description on the malcontents around here?
You know, life has so many legitimate problems......why would anyone create them just to complain? Can you imagine living a life so devoid of joy that you waste your energy complaining about a Christmas card?? I can't even begin to relate to these people! Life is so filled with JOY because of our Godly President! How can they be missing it?!
Absolutely.
And I can't explain them either, Wfan. I really can't.
Laura selected the artist. The artist spent some time at the White House and did several sketches of several scenes, and finally decided on the piano. He had the piano moved so that it would be lit just so. He then spent several months doing the painting from photos and e-mailing the White House with digital pics showing his progress, which someone at the White House, maybe Laura, gave input (very little, according to the artist), and the result is the lovely card posted at the beginning of this thread.
People who are perpetually complaining and mad at life are NOT experiencing the joy of their salvation, nor the contentment of the Lord.
There's a big difference between recognizing that there are problems in this world which need to be addressed, and looking for them in Christmas cards sent by a righteous leader and his lovely wife........a BIG difference.
Now, I didn't want to offend Catholics with that question. I was kind of flip when I asked it and I shouldn't have been, but it was to illustrate how easy it is to find fault with another's faith since that's what he was doing.
I am curious though and now that the question is out I would be very interested in a serious response.
For the record, I stick by what I said earlier about believing that the important thing between Christians of various religions is the Christian part as opposed to the religion part, so I'm not going to knock Catholics for practicing their religion differently than I practice mine.
I still disagree with some of your other points on this thread, but I shouldn't have taken that tone regarding your religion.
As I mentioned to someone else, I'm still curious about it. I've always been curious about that, but no disrespect was intended.
God Bless you. :-)
Thank you for clarifying. I read it to mean a Jewish candidate as seperate from conservative.

You must have missed the scripture on the inside right under the seal. "For the Lord is good: His Mercy is Everlasting; and His Truth endureth to all Generations." Psalm 100:5 Remember the flack he got last year for including a scripture in his card? Well, it didn't seem to bother him. He did it again this year.
Jesus is Lord, He is Lord indeed.. Amen!
Well said.. indeed..
No, I am not saying the OT isn't about the Messiah ( Jesus the Christ). In fact the OT is all about the coming of Him. What I do say is that I find it strange that quotes from the NT are rarely posted, they are mostly from the OT...
Big difference what you are getting out of what I said, so, please go back and re read what I actually did say.
You think the President is afraid to put a New Testament verse on his card because it's not PC. You wonder why he didn't. It's a silly thing to fret about.
This whole thread is silly. The President is a Christian who has spoken openly about his faith in Jesus Christ. No one questions that except a few picky, unaware, bullheaded, politically motivated people around here.
He and Laura sent a lovely Christian Christmas card, which people were thrilled to receive. He is the first President to put Scripture in a card, and you are griping because it's from the Old Testament. And in addition, I think you are imagining the absence of New Testament verses around here.
Why don't you find something important to worry about, thank the Lord that we have a GODLY CHRISTIAN President who honors the LORD with his life, and have a Merry Christmas, knowing that your President is glorying in the birth of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, just as you are.
