.we all know what is in the President's heart & soul

From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. (NT scripture)..so it is not quite all that clear...but again irrevelant what is revelent is that Jesus Christ be allowed to be said in the White House in America no matter the political cost..

We are called to be the salt of the earth.

We are to proclaim the Gospel.

We are to love the unbeliever, and to lead by example.

God calls people THROUGH those who know him. Otherwise, why have missionaries?

Please rethink your attitude.

It is God's grace that draws people to Him .... but I have talked to many people who were turned off to religion, the organized church, and God Himself by others who exhibited either highly hypocritical behavior or a holier-than-thou attitude. We cannot "save" others but we can drive them away from seeking God.

We are created in the image of God ..... and when non-believers see us, they are judging God to be like us. We should each ask ourselves daily if what others see in us would make people want to have what we have, to believe what we believe, to know the Savior that we know. We are to walk in His footsteps ..... and He refrained from judging others, though He had the right to because of His perfection.

I guess you didn't see the "Christmas in Washington" special last night? The President was singing Christmas carols and in his remarks spoke of the Reason for the season ...... the tiny babe born in Bethlehem. His faith and belief in the Savior came through loud and clear. The event was a true celebration of the birth of Christ.

That card is pathetic. I expected better from Bush.

Happy Holidays?

Just what festivity is that hunk of wood and string celebrating? The legal calendar observes Christmas, not some generic "holiday."

Myopic and cowardly.

well, I guess I just totally disagree with you and I think you are not giving our president a fair evaluation. So be it.

I'm sorry you missed it too.

Please read his testimony, in his own words in A Charge to Keep.

His faith is real..........and for the record.........I, as a Christian, was attracted to him as a candidate because of his faith and the Holy Spirit's prompting to pray for him, before I knew much else about him.

This card bothers them because they want to be bothered. There is nothing wrong with the beautiful White House card, there is something wrong with the people that are bothered by it.

The President lives the Gospel. Everyone who gets near him is aware of it. Those who don't see it don't want to see it.

The criticism and skepticism of his faith in Jesus Christ on this thread is politically motivated. I guarantee that every critic/cynic/griper here is against the President because he doesn't meet their political criteria, and their feelings have absolutely nothing to do with his Christianity.

And AMEN, kayak! The President's words of faith last night for all to hear were a wonderful blessing during this Christmas season! Praise GOD for this President!

Beautiful. There was a special on HGTV last night about the White House Christmas. They interviewed the artist who did the painting. Very touching.

You're not being fair. You're judging the president by one Christmas card when the fact is that GWB has done more to bring God back into the public discourse than anyone has in recent times.

So let me get this stright, if the card had included a verse from the New Testament, instead of the Old Testament everyone would be O.K. with this? But because an Old Testament verse is used your now questioning the man's faith?

We went through this last year. The complaint was that Bush had not publicly said the "J" word. Never mind that he referred to the Prince of Peace and that that is one of Jesus' names. No, he didn't actually say "Jesus."

There were a handful of malcontents who insisted that the Bush's were only pretending to be Christians in order to get the "fundie" vote.

At one point someone posted a picture of the Bushes walking out of church the previous Sunday, and one of the unappeasables basically said, "Yeah, but he's not carrying a Bible."

Sigh.

and the last I looked didnt GWB compromise on Stem Cell reserch on Aborted Fetus'?

No, he did not. What he did was to prevent any further babies from being used that way. The ones that are lost are lost. Period.

I wasn't going to bring this up, but you seem like a good person to ask. I've always been offended by the Catholic practice of referring to the Pope as the Holy Father, since God clearly states in Matthew 23:9, "And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." God is the Holy Father, not the pope.

I have wondered that for years but haven't asked any Catholic that question because I didn't want to question another Christian's beliefs because I believe that the differences between Christians of various religions aren't nearly as important as the one thing that we all have in common, and that is that we love God and have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

I figure that it's okay to ask you this question since you don't seem to have any qualms about questioning the faith of others who don't see everything exactly as you do.

In the music business, this syndrome is known as groove death. These people just live to suck the life and joy out of anything and everything. Perpetually dissatisfied, eternally disgruntled - who needs it?

Just wondering...what do you call the man who is married to your mother?
