Liberal teacher forcing his views on to students- Need help...
Posted on 12/09/2002 1:53:43 PM PST by Vertigo
My High school down in Sarasota is full of liberal propagandists(aka "teachers). In particular, my english teacher has been lecturing us on why we shouldn't go to war with Iraq. He gave us an anti-Iraqi war article for us to analyze, because he "wanted to teach us how to analyze non-fiction", and he kept lecturing on how he was a vietnam veteran, and how Nixon's policies led to many deaths and such. He made us read "The Crucible" (written by communist Arthur Miller)and analyze the main theme behind it, McCarthyism. I am sick of his liberal rhetoric, and I want him to be kicked out of school, or at least be silenced. Can some fellow FReepers give me some tips?

Suggestion to read
"Letters to a Young Conservative"
by Dinesh D'Souza
can be found at Amazon.com

I like ken5050's idea. Ask him for a copy of DD214 (that's the official military discharge paper).

Ouch! This looks like a problem for your parents to tackle and not you because of your need for a passing grade from this socialist wacko.
I say this because I tried the same thing with a teacher and after I did, she made my life a living hell.
If you decide to be proactive, my suggestion would be for you to bone up on expected lessons, and confront him with hard facts every time he opens his mouth with that crap.
I applaud you for having the guts (not to mention the BRAINS) to see his actions for what they are and I wish you all the luck in the world!
(You might also use this as an opportunity to engage fellow students - OFF CAMPUS - in order to shoot down his influence on them as well. This would be an excellent chance to give them good historical information while you discuss his opinions with them.)

And when a liberal kid wants a conservative teacher kicked out of school will you support the kid's effort or do you only want the liberal view banished from your school. What are you going to do when you go to college and liberal professors that have tenure make their viewpoints known? Will you cause a big stink and cry or will you challenge the professor and thereby expand your own knowledge?

Oh if I had a dollar for everytime I was in your situation. First be glad you live in a relatively conservative area. I was and still am being schooled in the ungovernable city known as New York. The teachers here are very liberal and do not hide it. Research the material, read vonservative authors and journals and ARGUE, ARGUE, ARGUE.

Is she teaching truth or propaganda? If she is conservative, her opinions are simply reflections of the truth. You can't have an opinion about truth.

Start by telling him to study history a little. Johnson started the Vietnam War. Nixon is the president that got us out of the war.

Something that would not be a bad idea, provided you have the proper proof, would be to submit an article to your school newspaper's opinion section.
However, be careful on your message because these newspaper editors can be very picky (and sensitive).

Ask him if he'll report to the class on:
Homage to Catalonia (Orwell)
The Road to Serfdom (Hayek)
Free to Choose (Friedman)
Atlas Shrugged (Rand)
It seems only fair that he be open minded.

Uh, Nixon got us out of the war...after lying to end it in his Presidential campaign, and illegally bombing Cambodia. There are not good guys in this war (talking about leaders here).

I was glad he ended it. I was about 2 years from going there. Bottom line... Nixon was the president that got us out of Vietnam.

Ask him for PROOF of his military service....in a polite way....lots of libs lie about it..... Excellent. Ask about details. And ask him why he thinks his political views belong in the classroom. These liberals will think nothing of taking advantage of a captive audience, especially a group of young people who are just starting to formulate political ideas. It's an abuse of power.
I was flipping by CNN the other day, and some dude (obviously a greenie) was there with an anteater (he was an employee of a zoo). He stated flat out that they bring animals to schools, because the kids gravitate right to them, and then when they've "got them hooked", give them "messages" about recycling and conservation. They don't even bother to disguise their agendas anymore! Sickening.

Oh, and give us a link to the anti-war article....perhaps it has a few holes in it.

There really were Commies in the US Government during the 50's. The KGB files prove this.
Nixon didn't start the Vietnam War - he ended it!! JFK and LBJ started that war.
Ask him if your class can read "The Gulag Archipelago"
Ask him if your class can read "The Black Book of Communism"
How about "Against All Hope" by Amado Valledares, who tells of life in Commie Cuba?
Ask him why the "Boat People" of Vietnam did not become a phenomenon during the previous 50 years of war in IndoChina, but only after "Peace" and "Liberation" by the Vietcong, did half the country rish their lives to leave on rickety boats to leave this paradise.
Ask him why Communist countries have to have a wall or other natural barriers - the ocean for instance - around them to keep thei people in?
