Celebrities to Send Bush Anti-War Letter

LOS ANGELES (AP)--Mike Farrell and Anjelica Huston will release a letter Tuesday signed by a hundred celebrities who want President Bush to stop his war rhetoric toward Iraq.

The letter reportedly is signed by stars including Kim Basinger, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Lange and Martin Sheen, publicists for the event said Monday.

Details of the letter weren't released.

Bush has threatened military force against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, saying the dictator has amassed weapons of mass destruction that pose a danger to the United States.

United Nations weapons inspectors are searching the Middle Eastern country for such devices but have turned up little so far.

Farrell, who plays a veterinarian on the NBC drama ``Providence,'' previously compiled a celebrity-endorsed letter in June asking U.S. senators to vote against a plan to bury the nation's nuclear power waste at Nevada's Yucca Mountain.

Co-signers of that letter included Alec Baldwin and Tim Robbins, Rob Reiner, Barbra Streisand and Harry Belafonte.

On July 9, senators voted 60-39 in favor of the Yucca Mountain project.

Hope they release it soon. I want to know whose products I will not be buying for anyone on my Christmas list.

I hope this becomes a nice, meaty juciy thread of venom directed at the celebrities. I will personally print the sucker and send it to all above listed "celeb's" in an oversized Christmas card.

Mike Farrell and Anjelica Huston will release a letter Tuesday

In the case of these two, the term 'celebrities' might be overstating things a little.

I am glad to see these idiots continue in their "activism". More and more Americans are learning just how really stupid so many are.

I think it's fine that people express their political opinions. However, I have to wonder why actors, who are people paid to pretend to be other people, think that their opinions are more valuable and newsworthy than anyone else's. From what I've seen, few of them have any education beyond high school and even fewer spend any free time reading or learning anything about the world.

It's 'hip', though--the old 'counterculture', limousine-liberal stereotype that they think they have to live up to. Originality in Hollywood doesn't exist.

Who gives a d*mn what these limousine liberals think. They only benefit they bring to this earth is some entertainment value from the ability to memorize lines and some of them look decent. Oh.. they also support the plastic surgery profession.

These people think they're more important than they really are. They need to get back to memorizing lines and leave the important stuff to the more informed and capable.

All we'll hear from them if a weapon of mass destruction is detonated is a call for a celebrity benefit for the victims. Then the silence from these Hollywood types will be deafening.

LOS ANGELES (AP)--Mike Farrell and Anjelica Huston will release a letter Tuesday signed by a hundred celebrities who want President Bush to stop his war rhetoric toward Iraq.

So a letter from a bunch of people who not only never voted for Bush, but gave oodles of cash to Bill Clinton, is supposed to somehow sway him? What's next from these idiots - a remake of Ishtar?

Farrell, who plays a veterinarian on the NBC drama ``Providence,'' previously compiled a celebrity-endorsed letter in June asking U.S. senators to vote against a plan to bury the nation's nuclear power waste at Nevada's Yucca Mountain.

You have to put the stuff somewhere, Farrell - how about in your swimming pool?

You'd think that the President was asking the Hollywood stars to do the fighting. What do they have to worry about?

I'd like to compose a letter to all of them telling them to stop participating in violent, sexually explicit, vulgar films. Does anyone think they'll listen?

Here's hoping this letter is as successful as the one Farrell ginned up to protest Yucca Mountain...can we have these idiots buried there too...as Hollywood waste?

I'll be impressed if I see evidence of these pampered divas standing in line at a local post office during the Christmas rush to mail this letter.

If they feel that strongly about it, then they should go to Iraq to show their support. Hang out in one of Sodoms plush palaces and wait for the fireworks.

It is way beyond time for all conservatives to boycott any and all movies that any of these so-called stars are involved in. They are only stars in their own little world and not in the eyes of real people.
