I would love to see the Tigers playing Georgia tonight. And if Brown Roots does lose, like I expect, I wouldn't be surprised if Nick Saban is accused of being a member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy for the way LSU choked at the end of the game last week. 8^)

.7 x 75% = 52.5%.

even jaun williams is now likable. any fox person is better than even the best cnn person. The other day, I saw Greta van Susteran interviewing a particularly despicable, arrogant eurosnob Saddam apologist, former United Nations Assistant Secretary-General Denis Halliday. She gutted him like a fish. No muss, no fuss. I was cheering for her. She did great.

irregardless, this seems to be between a-little and a-lot and for free at that . . . hee

The midpoint between 64 and 69 is 66.5. 66.5% x 75% = 49.8%. It doesn't seem like the black vote will be in excess of 25%.

This appears off a bit; Terrell does not need 70 percent of the white vote unless there's an extraordinary black vote. Blacks comprise 29 percent of the potential LA electorate but at most in the past, have hit 26 percent of the total voting when David Duke ran for governor. Assuming the black vote is again at 26 percent (again, unlikely), if Terrell gets 66 percent of the 74 percent of those voting who are white, she gets 48.9 percent of the vote. She then only needs 4 percent of the black vote, or .04 x .26 = 1.1 percent to add to her 48.9 to get a majority.

Yes, we're all waiting around to find out if Terrell wins by a-little or a-lot. So meanwhile we can all get lessons in grammar for free. Irregardless of the outcome, all y'all will know more than yaknow now.

Well I'm married to a Lawyer. LOL

Tough crowd here tonight.
To: Torie
If the black vote is, as I expect at 22 percent today, then Terrell needs "only" 63 percent of the white vote to win. She's been polling in the mid-60s as I understand it.

A bit of semantics could be at work here. It depends on whether white vote is defined as anyone who is white, or it is defined as anyone who is non-black. The point being, that LA has black voters, white voters, and also other voters (Hispanics, Asians, Jews, etc.). I have no idea how big the non-white or black vote is - I suspect it isn't very big, and I also don't know how it would tend to vote in LA. But this could explain any difference.
