Tell us how crowded/not crowded it was when you went to vote!

Did you see voter fraud and what is the talk about exit polling and the possible outcome?

So, are you saying that a large black turnout in the next 2.5 hours will tilt the election back to Landrieu? I bet Miss Donna Brazile is going nuts, right now. And James Carville must be groaning in anguish.

Huey long was a "conservative liberal" or a "liberal conservative," whatever each crowd wanted to hear and believe.

Don't scare me!! If Landrieu cheats her way to a win, I hope they kick her off every committee.

My personal unfavorite is using the terms "loose" and "lose" interchangeably.

You could make a good case that Landrieu is the most liberal Senator ever in Louisiana. Huey Long was an "economic populist" who supported all kinds of schemes to tax the "rich" and subsidize the poor (while skimming off a large portion of the money for himself and his cronies). Landrieu is likewise a tax-and-spend liberal, but in addition she supports tax funded abortion-on-demand and gay domestic partnership laws. She supports gun control and opposed protecting the Boy Scouts from being kicked out of the public schools. Something tells me the old Kingfish Huey Long wouldn't have been too keen on those policies.

Here's hoping for a big Terrell win tonight! By the way, on the Beltway Boys tonight, Fred Barnes said Landrieu will have a hard time reaching the black turnout levels she needs to win.

Lake Charles has a large union presence that reliably votes RAT, Lafayette doesn't. Also, the parish is one of the few whose population is still growing, while others are stagnant. The outer towns like Broussard, Carencro and Youngsville are exploding with new subdivisions, and most of these incomers are wealthier and better educated than the average joe. Also, being in the heart of Cajun country means it's overwhelmingly, and devotedly, Catholic, so the abortion issue resonates with most voters.

Yeah I think Lake Charles is Chris John's district, the only other Congressional Democrat in Louisiana besides Bill Jefferson.

By the way- thanks for the work you do with the polls. The site needs to have someone on top of such things, and you do a great job.

In a medical report, I once read "She has a tendency to lose stools at times."

I thought, heaven help her if she ever finds them!

I'm rather amazed that with all the black vote/white vote conflict, New Orleans race relations seem good.

I agree, however, I think this is true in most of the country now. Here in N.C. I was a poll observer at a 99.9% black precinct and was a little nervous, but got along very well with ALL of the poll workers including the black poll judge.

Maybe they will begin looking at the Republican Party if they can see that we're not the "enemy" and the Rats are just ignoring them after each election. We're going to have to win them over one by one and WHO KNOWS, we may be able to get 50% of the black vote in the next 50 to 100 years-LOL!

The lesson that stayed with me was "Sodom and Gomorrah had a Lot to be thankful for". It proved a useful device to remember not to use "alot" (although it ends in a preposition).

A FINE COLD DAY IN LOUISIANA

"People of Louisiana are going to know from day one when I'm in the United States Senate, I'm going to be standing for Louisiana," Terrell said at Edie's Restaurant to the about 100 supporters from Acadiana and Texas. "I'm not going to be standing with Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy and the liberal Eastern establishment."

"Louisiana wants to see good judges appointed to the federal judiciary, judges who know that life is sacred ... judges who know God is not a dirty word," Terrell said.

Terrell said she will join Democrats and Republicans to pass legislation for Louisiana and the nation.

"I think it's important that we can partner with people across the state and across this country to benefit Louisiana," Terrell said. "Somebody somewhere said it would be a cold day somewhere before there would be real change in Louisiana. Well the cold day is here."

Good going Suzie, George Bush, John Ashcrof & the Justice Department, FBI, Ralph Reed, Karl Rove, prayers, doers... Louisiana Voters & Louisiana Freepers!. Let's hear that acceptance speech by America's 100th Senator, The Pro-Life Lady from Louisiana!

Material quoted from Daily Advertiser Online: Terrell knocks Landrieu on voting record, Barbara L. Nelson, Posted on December 6, 2002

Now it can read "Terrell knocks off Landrieu by their positions." I'm going to get some pizza, dog food (not for me) and then go praise the Lord to a couple friends of mine, over just a bit of fine cold beer. Thank you Lord, for honoring the people who honor you, even on this side of glory.

As I recall, when Landrieu beat Woody Jenkins by 6000 votes 6 years ago, it was because of an enormous black vote in NOLA which was stoked by a vote on legalizing gambling. The gambling interests reportedly saw exit polls that they were losing and ran free buses into the inner city areas in the last three hours the polls were open so they could prevail.
