My ears might have deceived me. Did I hear correctly on the Sean Hannity Show? Did Hackworth call Cheney a draft dodger?

I sure your name refers to the OTHER usage of the word CHICKENHAWK.

My first impression of him from a few years ago is the same today; he has an axe to grind and is bitter and wants revenge. Hence his comments.

Nor does Saddam pose a threat to the survival of the Republic. Something the administration refuses to remember.
However, if you feel the need to go to war with Saddam, kindly forward your name and address and I will arrange to have a recruiter call on you for enlistment in the combat arms, such as the Infantry or maybe Artillery... then you can PROVE your words to the whole world.

There are enough legitimate reasons to hate Klintler; dodging the draft during the vietnam war is not one of them. The whole country was dodging the draft back then and there was zero rational reason to want to get involved in vietnam. What's your game? Using the word "hate" because Clinton is cited as an example of what it means to be a draft-dodger?
Whether you wish to look the other way because "everybody did it" or not, perhaps this type of person should not serve as President of the United States To wish that he had not does not mean one "hates".

Hack is a frikkin bozo. I wouldn't say that. But is a grunt chavinst. If it's not wearing green or painted green , he has little use for it. He rarely acknowledges the contribtutions of those who support the point of the spear, or keep the skys friendly. He seems to believe his role as grunt spokesman means he must automatically be against anyone above the rank of O-3, himself excluded of course (he retired as an 0-6, which isn't bad for someone who started out as an E-1, and served in combat as an enlisted soldier before becoming an officer.
He fails to see that there are, or will be someday, enemies with more sophisticated weaponry than an AK-47 and a set of black pajamas. When he stands up for the needs of the grunts, he is rarely wrong, when he atttacks others, with other responsibilities and needs, he rarely knows what he's talking about.

That was a crappy thing to say to someone who was in the military. No one gets a brownie points for serving in the most "honorable" war. Serving is serving Yes it was and I would never have said it if he hadnt spoke poorly of Cheney, one of my heroes.

I see you've run out of logic.

Thanks, with that, I agree.

Does that make Bush a deserter, or just AWOL???Neither. He served honorably.

My problem is with credulous people who believe what the propaganda machine tells them, be it in sports, entertainment, business, politics, the arts, etc. My point remains valid: Namath got out of military service for "bad knees" and yet his knees weren't "bad" enough to keep him from making gobs of money in the football arena every week for himself and his handlers. Of course, I'm not "from New York" (Thank God!) so I guess I'm not "in the know"; I only apply common sense, what I know from my own experience and what's established as historical fact.

Vietnam war:
Direct American involvement began in 1955 with the arrival of the first advisors. The first combat troops arrived in 1965.
To: McGruff
I noticed from your link it says Dick was born in 1941. Add 18 years and I get 1959. Nor were there many there in 1964 when Cheney, age 23,left college. I believe maybe 20,000 or so advisors.

So everyone who hasn't served has to shut up and do what you say?

You couldn't handle the intel that our CIC and VP Cheney are forced to hear daily. The former CIC "couldn't be bothered" with the security briefings and rarely attended them. He left a mess. The left and their presstitutes haven't the decency to shut up while those in charge clean up the mess they helped create. If you can't shut up while the adults take on the very nasty job of saving the free world...don't be surprised if one day you are casually speaking against our country and the current administration and some senior citizen whacks you across the fanny with a cane.

You can apply what you want. You should choose better targets or at least be conversant in the facts. Mantle and Namath were 4F. Both reported to the draft board when called and both took their physicals, Mantle took his four times.
Obviously you never saw Namath play football and are totally unfamiliar with a three step drop and a pocket quaterback. Other than that you know what your talking about.
