A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 12/4/02

Another busy day for President Bush today as he signed a few new bills and hosted the lighting of the White House Menorah. The President signed the 'Anton's Law' which requires shoulder belts in addition to lap straps in the middle rear seats of vehicles. Bush also signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act, which creates a new kids-safe 'dot-kids' domain on the Internet that would contain only material appropriate for children under 13. After signing the bill, he took questions from the media, and once again stated that he is not optimistic regarding the inspections in Iraq. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura hosted Afghani teachers as they learn to become master teachers, who will eventually be responsible for training teachers back in their home country. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I think he is going to be one of our greatest presidents, too. Whoever follows him in 2008 will have a high standard to match.

Yep, I'm looking forward to it. I love the snow. I dusted off my 4WD P/up earlier tonight, (Havn't driven it since I bought my new Monte Carlo SS 3 months ago) I also took the mower deck off the tractor and put the snow plow on.... SO I'M READY :-)

I was just thinking about that last night.

To extend the parallel, that would make Klintoon correspond to Coolidge ... a strange parallel, but suspend judgment on that for a minute.

It's my economic prediction that we are headed into hard times, that the stock market has much further to fall. Roosevelt was trusted through the Great Depression; economic bad times are not necessarily bad news for the incumbent, if they can earn the trust of the people.

There had been serious signs of liberalism in our nation for decades before, what with Woodrow Wilson, the 16th and 17th amendments, the League of Nations, Prohibition and such. But Roosevelt cemented that shift to the left and paved the way for a half-century dominated by liberals, culminating in LBJ's Great Society.

Now we have had, especially with Reagan, signs of a shift to the right. I predict that Bush will cement that shift, for decades to come. The recent Democrat Presidents (Carter and Klintoon) will be looked back on as the last decaying gasps of the wave of liberalism that washed over America the last century.

America bent, but did not break. She stood strong.

YES...re: the STANDARD.....I'm so proud of our President and the standards he is setting......my grandson will now grow up and KNOW what a REAL President is....unlike his siblings who lived through the 8 year horror of the other one. I'm hoping this means all who follow will be trying to achieve HIS greatness from now until....well....forever!

I saw a survey on Fox & Friends this morning -- greatest Americans (living???) or something like that -- Reagan was #1 and JIMMY CARTER was #2 -- Colin Powell was in there at 3rd or maybe 4th, plus someone I can't remember -- but Clinton was #5 -- no "W" on the list ! Did anyone else see this ?? I was half asleep and hope I dreamed it !

Mike, what was the city in MD that banned Santa Claus at its celebration last year? I wonder if they'll try it again, especially since MANY people showed up in Santa suits last year.

I SOOOOOO hope you are correct. I've thought we were seeing the pendulum swing end (going left) and that it was heading back in the direction - what you say makes sense!

Just thought I would mention something a bit personal.
A fellow freeper and a cousin of mine, RasterMaster lost his mother last Friday, the 29th, in Oklahoma.
They had a funeral for her in Oklahoma on Monday, and one tomorrow in Indianapolis.
I wish I knew a better way to post it. Also am not sure what is most appropriate.

And looney toon, congratulations on the new granddaughter. Lots of hugs are what I wish for her and much love from many people. A long lifetime of love.

If that's how he treats his pets, think of how Gore would have treated the American people. We would be neglcted and have to fend for oursleves. Thank the Lord for George W Bush!

I feel your pain. When I'm at the local gym the people on some of the other machines hear me snort and groan when some talking bag of air gets on the TV and spouts off on things they have no idea about. (and, for the record, Charles B should stick to basketball, 'cause he has no idea about anything else, including golf!)
