I want to drive a tank, unfortunately I couldn't afford the gas and the gubmint woun't let me drive around with a 105mm cannon (they just don't understand the 2nd amendment the way I do). I guess I'll have to settle for a Humvee or an SUV.

Pay for the $200 tax stamp, and cough up the big bucks for one, and you can own a 105. Same as for machine guns. I just can't afford to buy or feed a monster like that. A single shot .50BMG is expensive enough for my tastes. ;>)

But please, remember to turn off your blinker after the turn. Tanks are noisy.

You may hate them but don't forget liberal minds begot SUVs. They put gas use standards on cars and people needed large cars to haul their families around in (when was the last time you saw a station wagon?) so the cars companies came up with something that wasn't a truck, wasn't a car, it was an SUV and the new category got around the do-gooder laws and that is why liberals hate them. (Also seat belt laws, child safety seat laws, etc. killed the station wagon. And wagon's were useless in the snow with two wheel drive, in the rear no less.)

I've got no beef with SUVs. I'd love to have an H2 myself. I do have a problem with some SUV drivers. You know the ones -- oblivious to the universe around them in their metal cocoons, cell phone plastered against their ear or a newspaper propped up on the wheel, gradually crowding the car in the lane next them into the ditch as they wander to and fro across multiple lanes in their huge vehicle. This type of imbecile exists in cars, too, but when they get behind the wheel of an SUV, these particular incompetents seem to even be more divorced from the reality of the road around them. Maybe they feel invincible and therefore don't care.

In other words, any problem with SUVs is a driver problem, not a vehicle problem. Good drivers can drive an M1A Abrams down the street and it wouldn't bother me in the least.

You know whats really horrifying here? Why hasn't the DNC come out and condemned these acts of vandalism as contrary to the American way of life? Haven't heard many Dems on the issue either, huh? Thats because at their hearts...the democrats totally AGREE with these home grown green terrorists. AL GORE said as much in his BOOK! His ultimate goal is to remove the term "internal combustion engine" from the world lexicon.

Make no mistake the movement to ban SUV's is far more sinister and far reaching than what these idiots are being portrayed as. See....(thoughtfully and firmly adjusting the frequency on my tin foil hat) it's all about control. On one level, it's about gun control. No ability to go far afield and reach the hunting grounds? No way to haul out the meat? NO MORE "SPORTING NEED" to own a hunting rifle...no more hunting. NOW those bolt action rifles suddenly become....ta-DAHHHHH "SNIPER RIFLES!"

Want to control a large measure of the population in their travel habits...keep track of them...check on their intrastate travel papers? BAN the 4X4 vehicle and instantly the backwater gulleys and rutted country roads become impassable and thus it is much easier to control the movement of an entire population. Imagine the places HUMMER owners (Or the far more affordable HUMMER2!) could get to to go around a nice easy roadside checkpoint for "Your PAPERS...PLEASE!"

BTW, Those babies (H2) are going to blow the standard Suburban right off the map. It's already happening here in Miami, FL...where nobody takes their SUV's and trucks off the pavement anyway. At least not until they go on vacation in North Carolina! LOL I have had the opportunity to test drive H2 and it is certainly impressive...even along side it's more capable big brother.

Easy......most SUV drivers are women and most women are liberal.

By the way, before I get flamed, I'm a woman SUV driver who loves the space for my kids.........I just know that most women are overly emotional and not logical when it comes to politics, I'm sorry to say.

If they hate SUVs then they're really going to be mad I drive a 2001 True Blue Bullitt Mustang GT. I have to floss those little ricers out from under the bumper at least 7 days a week.
