TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Boy Scout leader faces charges that he fondled at least three members of his troop and showed them gay pornographic photos, police said. Robert King, 50, was held in Brevard County Jail on $75,000 bail Sunday after police charged him with lewd and lascivious molestation and exposure of sexual organs. King, who is married, confessed that exposed himself and showed the troop members pornography, Titusville police spokesman John Lau said.

Lau said King invited at least five boys to his home on Friday under the guise of preparing to build a Christmas float. The boys ranged in age from 10 to 12. Police became involved after at least one scout's parents learned of the incident Friday evening. King was arrested Saturday and appeared in court Sunday. The Central Florida Boy Scouts Council is investigating the case, district executive Kevin Litt said. Last month, the Boy Scouts of America announced that it would require criminal background checks of new adult volunteers beginning next year.

This kind of crap was going on in the 19th Century as well. It just didn't make the headlines like it does today.

Same with school shootings, etc. People like to think that school shootings (kids shooting kids) is a new phenomenon.....it was going on during the Depression epression as well.

I'd guess his wife KNEW he was a homosexual, but decided to overlook it for whatever reason. A friend of mine's father is a homosexual, married for 40+ years. He's also a convicted child molestor. Boys, of course. She knew he was a homosexual, even allowed his boyfriend in their house, though in the guise of just a friend. And, she even allowed her ten year-old son's friends to sleep over with the "father" as the only adult in the house.

Sad, but true. A friend's father is a homosexual and child molestor. He was also an upstanding member of his evangelical church, a respected worker and considered an all-around good father. He would have had no problem gaining access to a whole den of victims.

...How should we respond when an outstanding organization does something terribly wrong? Last year, the U.S. Supreme Court gave the Boy Scouts of America the right to ban gays from their organization (BSA v. Dale). Just because an action is legal, however, does not mean that it is morally right.
