Snyder is going up against history on two fronts. One I've already mentioned. The other is the fact that Washington has gone 0-4-0 versus Dallas an Thanksgiving Day. But you're right. I do so much enjoy Snyder going through what he's going through in D.C. He has to look at the up-side of all this misery. One day, he will have a team that will have to be dealt with, not just another win on someone else's sked. Dallas went through it and won 3 Lombardi trophys in 4 years so there is hope for the Skins. Can't wait for Thursday, go Cowboys.

The Skins have given me too much false hope in the last couple years to talk smack about Dallas, but I see a glimmer of hope for our chances in these next two games. Daryl Gardener made it a point to say he hates Dallas so much he wanted to hop on a plane and play 'em right after yesterday's game. This is a far cry from the Norv Turner love fest with Dallas we had to listen to. And yes, I trace most of the futility of the last 8 years to the Skins hiring Norv. He's a great coordinator, and seems to be a good guy, but his time here cost us big.

My two favorite teams? Why the Skins and who ever is playing Dallas of course.

It's hard being a Redskins fan right now. Snyder meddles too much.

This comming from a Rams fan with Mike (I needed to address the offensive line but didn't) Martz.

As a New York Giants fan, I can tell you, after witnessing yesterday's Worst Game in NFL History®, I will stare at the screen Thursday only in a perfunctory and obligatory manner, because that is what is expected of me as an American male.

After yesterday, I have no pastime. Life is hard enough without having to sit through 2-hour first halves, 3 fumbles on the first 5 plays, botched snaps, safeties, missed field goals, a thousand punts, a thousand throwing out of bounds to avoid the sack, refs stopping the action CONSTANTLY, replay challenges, injury timeouts, clock resets, and of course, at least 586 commercials.

All topped off by finally losing 16-14 to the expansion Texans. An absolute disgrace...those of you outside the NY/Houston markets, give thanks Thursday you didn't witness this one.

I knew, I KNEW, from Day One of the Norv regime, that it was a mistake hiring a Cowboy. His heart was never in beating them. Spurrier's IS, & I can't wait for Thursday.

Saw Nadler on the TV the other daying saying that he had recently gone through a surgical procedure to help him lose weight. He said that he has thus far lost 60 pounds and that he is "1/8th of the way to my goal."

Should we FReep the truck stop where he checks his weight?

Is it my imagination or does every stinking punt return in the NFL draw a holding play against the receiving team? What is it an automatic penalty??? It's insane.

PS: Go Bucks, and hang the ba$tards that rioted.

As a lifelong fan of the Cowboys, I apologize to the entire nation for what you are going to see on Thursday. We have the worst GM in the history of football running our team, and the owner won't fire him. Probably because they are the same person.

Exciting football got a shot in the arm last night. That finish of the Broncos-Colts game in the snowstorm in Denver was a real nail-biter. And the last few seconds of the Skins-Rams game was pretty exciting as well. I'm a Dolphin fan, but having lived in the Washington area for eight years on/off I'm still a Redskin fan; I also spent four years on Cape Cod so still have good feelings for the Patriots; born and raised in Detroit, I still have room in my heart of the hapless Lions.

Sure they do. Penn State is a good school too...Oh wait that's the Nittney Lions. Nevermind.

You know, with the way Penn State played last week, we might be better off hiring them to play the Pats on Thanksgiving...

I'd watch that.

Could be worse. I could be the Lions vs the Bengals. Now that would be a sleeper.

Excuse me but, the 'Skins have had their share of the pie or how quickly we should forget the Joe Gibbs era. Sure, some of Joe's decisions were a little tough to take at times (Thank goodness LT took Joe Theisman out when Gibbs didn't have the guts to do it), and they didn't string their 3 Lombardi trophies together like the 49ers, Steelers and Cowboys but each year they went to the Super Bowl they were every bit as dominant. Thanks to Joe Bugel, they had the greatest offensive line in the history of the game. How else could Mark Rypien, of all people, be the MVP of a Super Bowl?

My only gripe (besides leaving Theisman in when he proved time and time again he couldn't throw a short out in less than one bounce) was that the Babe didn't get a better chance, but alas.... Snyder was a season ticket holder in those years so he was able to enjoy it as a fan. Anything he has done that's gone a little awry can be chalked up to a little overzealousness. His heart is in it for the team.

By the way, the count has already begun. How many times this week are we going to see Clint Longley? Grrrrrrrr....

Maybe the NFC East is just overated. How else do you explain:

Houston Texans vs. NFC East: 2-1
Houston Texans vs. the rest of the NFL: 1-7

The Giants luck their way into the Super Bowl about once a decade and occasionally are lucky enough to win one. Be happy with that.

You can tell the NFL knows it has a rating disaster on its hands when it schedules the Super Bowl Champs as one Thanksgiving opponent and dredge up one of the league's most historic rivalries for the other game. They knew there would be turkeys this Thanksgiving...

I think you're thinking about this all wrong. Thanksgiving is for eating. The games are an added excuse to lay on the couch and breath in the aroma drifting out of the kitchen. No one cares whether the games are good or not, it just means you're not expected to cut the grass and rake the yard.

(BTW, I learned that lesson when Clint Longley ruined my Thanksgiving meal back in 1974. Never again...) Grrrrrrr.....

I could stomach the GM if he would replace the offensive
coordinator. The offensive line has been a joke up until
yesterday. Small wonder the quarterbacks couldn't do jack
and Smith seldom breaks through.
