Mexico to campaign to legalize workers

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's foreign minister, Jorge Castaneda, said his country would begin a "bottom-up campaign" to win U.S. public support for a proposal to legalize 3.5 million undocumented Mexican workers in the United States.
Castaneda said Mexican officials will begin rallying unions, churches, universities and Mexican communities.
"What's important is that American society sees a possible migratory agreement in a positive light," Castaneda said. "We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities -- if you will -- in their communities."
What would you do with all the illegals now here?
Alright, suppose a native born anglo or black wants an entry-level construction job in my area.
First he'll have to make his way into the barrios of East Dallas. Once there he should proceed to the parking lot of the nearest seedy Hispanic beer hall. There will be a crowd of illegal-alien felons milling about, waiting for the white contractor to appear in his pick-up.
Now, if our intrepid job seeker is even allowed into the parking lot, doesn't start a riot by his mere presence and isn't assaulted by one of his potential co-workers, do you really think the white contractor is going to pick him up for a job? He'll probably be arrested for disturbing the peace long before a contractor shows up.
You know we dont have to stop at illegal aliens from south of the border coming in against our laws, constitution and will of the people. We could let in alot of people who would work for cheap from china, india, all of the middle east, all of south america, all of africa, most of the world actually. Your logic works for letting them all in. Otherwise you are a hypocrite.
What would you do with all the illegals(immigrants) now here?
I would let them try to pursue the American dream. You know a solid roof over their head, two cars in the garage, barbecues with neighbors in the back yard, etc. etc..
Of course if your course had been followed I wouldn't be here because of my Mother's "mongrel" heritage.

You don't find even a hint of hypocrisy in your stand of strict enforcement against drug users and doing nothing against illegal aliens?
Uh there is a difference between an immigrant mother cleaning toilets and an immigrant father mowing lawns trying to provide for a family and a leftist limosine "prodigy" who needs a shower and listens to the Greatful Dead screaming "America Sucks" while toking on a bong.
Of course that policy would tried to be blocked by those who see all Mexians as "evil" by their birth.

They are connnected in that drug users and illegal immigrants are violating the law. Are you telling me we are to pick and choose which laws we enforce?

In a guest worker program, we don't pay any money to support their citizens. They come here to work, and if they stop working, for whatever reason, they go back. They don't get Medicaid or even free education for their kids. But that's if we had a sensible guest worker program. We used to have such a program. A pity we don't now.
And there's no way we could make American citizens take the jobs they do. The little welfare reform we've had was hard enough to pass. Making the welfare recipients take menial jobs would be impossible.
Not to mention that many of our welfare recipients are substance abusers or felons - would you want one of them to clean your house or office or care for your lawn?

So you see the immigrant mother cleaning toilets to support her family and the limosine liberal "prodigy" smoking dope and smashing Starbucks and McDonalds windows as criminally equal.

And, no, Americans will NOT do the work. At almost any price. Of course, most of the work comes with no benefits. Who could afford to have someone clean their house once/week or mow the lawn in the summer if they had to pay health insurance?
These are jobs that have a certain value - either there is work at the price it is worth, or there is no work at all.
