I'm looking into a State Assembly race here in California where the GOP guy is slightly behind and the democraps are trying to keep the MILITARY absentee ballots from being counted! Here's the race: State Assembly - District 30:
Nicole M. Parra Democratic 26,203 50.2%
Dean Gardner Republican 26,016 49.8%

I heard that Dean Gardner is being forced to file a lawsuit to make them count the military absentee votes. Democraps are trying to have ALL the military ballots discarded because they were received late. If you want more info on this, FReep Mail me and I'll put you in touch with Gardner. By the way, our GOP leader in the Assembly, Dave Cox, though he was petitioned and begged to support Dean Gardner's campaign, decided NOT TO GIVE ONE RED CENT TO THIS FINE CANDIDATE! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. When/if I get some more details, I'll post a thread. For victory & freedom!!!

That's another thing I don't get. Is the GOP so disorganized that they can't handle any kind of backup for state and local campaigns or are they only paying attention to races that THEY consider to be valuable to them on a more national level?

I saw the same problem here when stop_the_rats was raked over the coals by the media and they were not there to advise her. If anything, it seemed that they distanced themselves without even bothering to find out the facts.

And yes, by all means, keep us updated on this story. We have got to hold their feet to the fire and one way we can do that is by paying attention and making a lot of noise so that these outrageous RATscams care forced into the light of day.

This just in from Campaign for California Families: VALLEY ASSEMBLY RACE STILL UNDECIDED

Dean Gardner, a pro-marriage candidate from Bakersfield, is in court trying to get a fair count of ballots. In the race for the 30th Assembly District, which stretches from Fresno County to Kern County, Gardner is only 165 votes behind Nicole Parra, a pro-homosexual Democrat activist. Since Election Day, the registrars of voters in four counties have been counting absentee and provisional ballots, and Gardner wants to make sure that no one voted improperly. But Parra - whose United Farm Worker supporters reportedly registered 15,000 new voters before Election Day - is claiming "voter privacy" and has filed a lawsuit to block Gardner. It's amazing. First Parra disingenuously said she supports marriage - yet she also supports "civil unions" and refused to sign the Marriage Protection Pledge! Now Parra says she wants fair elections - yet she's trying to block accurate counting of votes. The week before the election, CCF held three very successful news conferences in the district to inform voters where the candidates stand on the protection of marriage. This race was another missed opportunity. Trice Harvey, Central Valley vice-chair for the state Republican Party, said, "The Republican caucus (of legislators in Sacramento) feels bad" about not thinking Gardner could win and giving him hardly any money. In contrast, CCF knew this contest in the south Central Valley could be very close. But we never imagined this moral battle would still be here two weeks after Election Day!

Go, Gardner!!! If he pulls this off, it will be a miracle beyond belief. Such intrigue and back-room shenanigans by the democRATS! For victory & freedom!!!

"We Want JUSTICE, That's Right!!"
(To be sung to Elvis Presley's "Are You Lonesome Tonite?")

Are Libs lonesome tonight? Why's the Left Hate the Right?!
Is Left sorry they let Slick get this far?
Does your memory stray to a brighter sunny day...
When Slick kissed you and tugged at yer hearts?
Do the chairs in RATS' chambers seem empty and bare?
Do you gaze at the WhiteHouse and picture Slick there?
Is your heart filled with pain?! Well, folks, Join MUD and SING!!
Reject Fear!! Then you can join the Right!!

(spoken) MUD wonders if...Left is fearing the Right.
You know the bard said that the World is a Stage...
And each of us must FReep our part.
Fate had me playing in love twes my sweet heart.
Act One was when Slick tricked you, Libs loved Bill at first glance
Slick told his lies so cleverly...you never had a clue!!
Then came Act Two...you learned Slick RAPES and Left acted deranged...
And why?! I'll never know!!
Lib'rals, yer lying when you say you love Slick!!
'Cuz you have no cause to be FOOLS!!
But you'd rather go on hearing Slick's lies...
Than go and admit yer Slick's TOOLS!!
Now RATS stage is bare...but MUD's standing there...
With Slim's Band's Groovy Sound!!
Folks, If Left Won't Re-Impeach...
Then RATS Shall Bring RAT-Party Down!!

Is your heart filled with pain, will you join MUD and Sing?!
Forsake Fear...won't you please do what's Right?!

Your post gave me another idea for the thread. Whenever the thread is renewed and edited, I think it would be a good idea to make a list of "red flag" counties when we become aware of them. That would not only serve to make more people aware of the problem areas, but it would give us some clear direction as to where to focus our energies. The 2004 race is going to be SO important. A lot of non-FReepers lurk on FR and I think this kind of information could also serve to help those in key positions to apply resources where they are most needed.

Lou, would a map of the US with markers added periodically to implement this idea be doable? I will start a "red flag" list which I will post each time. If you could illustrate it, that would be great.

Florida replay.....

No kidding. But what I'm wondering is why this isn't in the news?! I have sent a few emails to try and drum up some interest but why should I have to do that? I'm a great big NOBODY. Why on earth isn't the local news media interested in this story? Well, Duh! I forgot for a second there that the media hates Republicans and tries to cover the rear-ends of every democrap they can find. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Elections Officials Hand Over Voter Info
Information Of 388 Voters Who Cast Provisional Ballots Released

POSTED: 10:44 p.m. PST November 21, 2002
UPDATED: 11:07 p.m. PST November 21, 2002
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Kern County elections department gave voter information to Republicans Thursday as Dean Gardner continues to try and to cut into Democrat Nicole Parra's slim lead for the 30th District Assembly seat, KERO reported.

The Gardner camp was given the names, addresses and phone numbers of the 388 voters who cast provisional ballots, according to KERO 23. Gardner said that he is looking for evidence of possible voter fraud, including whether any voters cast two ballots.

But he doesn't have much time to make a case. Election officials plan to begin counting the ballots Friday morning and Gardner must have any challenges in by then, according to KERO 23.

However the outcome, local officials said that the conflict between Gardner and Parra has been bad for the system. As of Thursday afternoon, the Secretary of State's office had Parra in the lead by 177 votes, KERO 23 reported.

ping me! I worked the polls this year, and did my part...during the lulls, I checked birthdates, and there were a few registered voters with "suspicious" birthdates such as 1895, which we double checked for recent activity and reported to HQ for research. We didn't find any dead people voting, but you sure do want to clear out that deadwood before it catches fire, if you catch my drift....

I'm still trying to find anything mentioned on military votes, nothing so far. Curious, no?

Provisional ballots are questioned, 11/20/02
Judge orders release of voters' identities

By Kim Baca , Associated Press

A Fresno County Superior Court judge ordered Wednesday the release of the names and addresses of 154 voters who cast provisional ballots in Fresno County for the 30th Assembly District. Judge Gary S. Austin ruled the release of provisional voter's names, home telephone numbers and signatures were public record, and lifted a stay issued Monday that stopped the counting process.

I am personally very tired of these litigious nailbiter elections and I am convinced that if the process was forced to be honest and above board, these razor thin margins wouldn't exist. I think the choices of the people would be more clear. It is one thing to lose fair and square, but it is quite another to have to work 5 times harder because our honest votes not only have to beat their honest votes, but also their illegitimate ones.

Lookee here: Gardner file suit against Fresno County Clerk Victor Salazar.
11/19/02

Nicole Parra, his Democratic opponent, asked for an injunction to stop Salazar from releasing the information to Gardner. Fresno County Superior Court Judge Gary S. Austin continued the matter until Wednesday.

"I've filled out a basic request for public information, and now my opponent is suing to block me, which makes me very suspicious," Gardner said. "What is it that she doesn't want me to find out?"

Parra declined to comment, but in court filings said the Gardner campaign will use the provisional ballot information "to harass and intimidate Fresno County voters about their vote in the November 2002 election."

Now, that's an interesting argument, Gardner's HARASSING AND INTIMIDATING voters!!!! Gee, does this sound familiar to anyone?
