Anorexic half clothed plastic women is not good television. To heck with the moral issues (of which there are many), none of these women look good!!

Is it 9PM EST or 10?

Of course as the spokswomen said the Men's Auxillary will be reviewing 'the fashion programming with musical and comedy segments in between segments'

Although its really silly to call it "soft porn", its hard to disagree with this statement:

"What purpose does the special serve except to overly sexualize women and use this to bolster the networks' demographics for young men?" they asked in a joint letter to CBS President Leslie Moonves.

Since when did NOW become concerned about the treatment of women outside of using the issue as a leverage to increase their political power?

"It's a one-hour fashion show mixed with musical performances and comedy segments...."

He's probably referring to the PeTA protest. <|:)~

It's an excuse to see scantily clad women. Come now, do try and tell me that their primary interest is to get female viewers so Victoria's Secret can sell their wares - that'd be my laugh of the day.

Certainly, if I put it on my telly, I know a certain lady who wouldn't leave enough of me to provide a malnourished chihuahua for supper. ;)

And darling, if you're reading this - it's being broadcast in America not Britain.

Regards, Ivan

Victoria's Secret on TV 'soft porn'?

Only for the people who get off on Sears catalogs.

I absolutely refuse to watch it if it's soft core porn.

I'm holding out for the pay-per-view hard core version.

Worst thing about it is, Victoria's Secret has got nothing special since Frederique moved on. The others are pretenders.

Nah. If it was soft porn, there would be a cheesecake shot with a couple of hot chicks making out with each other. Drool!

This is the greatest! A show that gives us beautiful women while pissing off the NOW hags, along with the rest of the looney left! Doesn't get any better than this!

"Does it push the envelope? Sure. But everyone knows what the Victoria's Secret fashion show is," he said.

Actually, the problem is that it does not push the envelope. Mass media is saturated with soft porn. This is safely following the trend in media ethics, not breaking any new ground.

That would be about it. cf. "Capitalism".

It seems to me that whenever something like this comes on TV there will always be the myriads who will want to condemn it as the nihilistic nefarious cause of moral atrophy and satanic dissension in the world! Personally i think it is just a program that shows beautiful sylphs (possessing body types beyond the reach of virtually all women) parading in silk whatnots ....in essence an advertising ploy that sells an image to the masses.

However definitely not the work of the devil!

And also let me add that it always amazes me that some people will try to cancel a program on TV that does not personally fit well with them. They will strive their hardest to shut it down (even if they are the only family finding problems with the program), instead of doing something extremely simple: turn of their TV set! I think the same applies to this Victoria Secrets program: If someone has a problem with it, or thinks it is soft porn, or that the women are reincarnations of the 7 dukes of hell .....then the simple and prudent thing to do is switch to another channel, listen to the radio, or go for a walk! However when they try to paint the whole thing as evil or responsible for every bad thing since stale bread then you have to wonder .....who exactly has the agenda?

And something else! I always laugh when i see some criticizing the women who appear on the adverts for Victoria secret for being too skinny, emaciated, and so forth! That is funny because for one the ladies in the adverts are not emaciated (for truly skinny look at Euro-trash fashion shows ...now THAT is skinny). Secondly (and by far more importantly) i could safely state that the vast majority of men would like to meet anyone of those V.S models; and furthermore probably even more women would sell half their soul to look even remotely like those women do! However since most men do not have access to such beauties, and most women only look like that on Friday nights (when some guy at some nightspot is trying to woo and flirt with them, and in the process tells them lies about how they look like Giselle) then it becomes easy to criticize. Obviously there are exceptions (eg men who truly prefer plump women; or women who are truly confident in themselves and value who they are instead of how they look, and hence have no reason to pine after a body type that only 15 years olds can keep). However the vast majority who criticize are just being hypocritical.

To prove a point look at the following picture! True, some may prefer buxom beauties, others women with higher percentages of body fat for their own respective reasons! However i would easily make a bet that most men would prefer someone who looks as follows, and that most women would like a body type close to that! After all how come the health industry(read Body Shaping since it is more towards looks than health ....health just happens to be a by product) is a multi-billion dollar industry? Simple reason: Men want to have bodies attractive enough to attract women like these models; and women want to have bodies like those models have!

Anyways here is the picture of one of the VS models, Adrianna.
