I've never seen anyone as irredeemably serious and over the top as yourself. You're deluded if you think I care about what's in your head, so don't pretend to speak for me. The facts speak for themselves. You're obviously the type that never changes their mind when presented with facts anyhow, so no use even trying. I'm just playing with you like a cat plays with humorless trolls.
My reference to you being a leftist disruptor was tongue-in-cheek to any other reader but yourself. I wasn't talking to you in that post anyhow, I was replying to the mention of a "taboo" with the point that incest isn't even a taboo to some on the far left who, like yourself, call normal people "puritans." By the way, some of your responses are completely nonsensical and show you aren't even absorbing the post before you do your Ginsu replies. It's good for a laugh, but of course your fellow Quakers won't find it very funny. Get thee a clue and a sense of humor, or return to whence you came.
Um... That was kind of my point? That normal, grown women will usually only feel comfortable enough to rest their head in the lap of a man with whom they feel some degree of sexual tension? Did you read my post?
Then why do you keep trying to explain your position to me?

Yeah right. That stratement is a fake as that photo. The fact is that I see nothing wrong with the photo and to imply the abomination that you applied to it is not right and over the top in my opinion.

Of course. You're such a kidder.

I believe I have the right to respond to a post that has my handle in it.

Incest jokes about particular people aren't humor from whence I came.
Political image-making to make him appear sexy for young women is one thing, but this is way out there. I have no doubt his other daughter/advisor not in the photo was directing the "love shot" for the cameraman. Hey, they make the image, we deliver the punch line.
No, Al...your "woman" is a nut case. She's basically said so herself...just not in those words.
No, I know what you're talking about. You're creeped out. I'm not. I said so because these threads look terrible to a lot of normal people. You can't accept that I have a different opinion. I do a lot of things that creep out the puritan wing of FR. I go to bars and drink beer (Oh the horror)! I like pop/rock music. I like women that like to look sexy. A lot of FR puritans are creeped out by these likes and that's fine, different strokes for different folks. I've had some FR puritans say they can never be my friend because the beer thing. That's fine, I'm particular about my friends too, they can't be too self-righteous. We all have different standards. Maybe you believe alcohol and rock music is the tool of the devil. Maybe you think women who like to show off a little as being poossessed, I don't know. That's your standard. My standard for humor doesn't include false incest implications of particular people, nor am I offended by daughters who are reaxed with their fathers as Gore's daughter may be and as the female freeper I quoted in post #114 is. I let my opinion be known because no one else on my side did. You can't let it go. You're deeply offended that my standard for humor isn't the same as yours and since it's not the same you say I'm a stiff. Ask my friends if I'm a stiff.

Yes, it's extreme in it's fakery but not wrong in it's pose in my opinion.
She's from Ireland, and you two are pretty much alone in the wilderness on this. I've sent the photo by itself to many people without the added humor and just like on the thread here 90% say "not appropriate" in American culture. And we all know what that means. The grown daughter is in what would be a position of sexual tension. In Ireland that may not be the case. Hey, some cultures see no problem with two hetero men holding hands and kissing on the lips as a greeting. But that's them.
When a politician puts out images to tell a story about his loving sexiness and screws it up, he should be prepared for jokes. Same with Angelina Jolie and her "innocent" brotherly love in the public eye. Everything may be completely on the up and up with all involved, but we have every right to comment on the sexual messages that are being sent relative to our cultural norms. If you don't understand it, that's OK with me. Just understand that you may not be as perceptive of the appropriateness of sexual messages as others. And once again, nobody is alleging anything sexual is actually in fact going on with the Jolies or the Gores...it's probably just french kissing ;) Sorry, I know you don't laugh -- that joke was for others.
You were attacked pretty vehemently by her and another poster on the first thread and pretty quickly. You didn't respond much. The reason you're not here is because you labeled it a caption thread. However this thread is not a caption thread since more posts are serious than are captions. All I did was say I think everyone is over-reacting since the thread turned so serious. Ireland is about the most conservative nation in Europe, by the way. I don't think that something like relaxing with a father would be a cultural difference between us.

[sigh] Oh boy. Well, like I said, I disagree and I said so and I think it's important to show more than one point of view on things like this so that lurkers and independants can get a better view of conservative thought. I don't see anything wrong with that picture.

Like in San Fran? Ireland isn't Greece.

Jokes on it's fakery maybe. Falsely implying incest is something I'd never do to a particular person.

I don't know about that, morally. The bible speaks against gossip. It's a judgment call and I don't even know who Jolie is so I don't know the details. I would guess that this picture doesn't rise to the degree of that situation.
If you don't understand it, that's OK with me. Just understand that you may not be as perceptive of the appropriateness of sexual messages as others.
And you can be aware that you may be seeing things that don't exist.

I laugh all the time at real humor.
Yeah,I read it. The question is did YOU read it? If you did and you still stand by it,one of us doesn't understand what "tension" means.
I think you missed the point behind that staged photo. It wasn't to make him seem sexy,it was to make him seem like a loving family man.
