Well, as pKmom said, it's really Section 8a -- but it is the same. A racist, sexist set aside built into the law.

LOL!!! I spent almost 13 years working for them and that Command was the reason we have lived all over the Country.

Something I didn't know until recently is that Indians, Eskimos and Hawaiians have a special deal that if a contractor hires them, they contractor gets a bonus of I think 5% of the contract just for hiring their companies.
Had you heard about that one?

This isn't JUST wonderful because it will save money and make government more efficient. It ALSO is brilliant politically -- it reduces the numbers in government unions and dries up a huge source of funding for the demonrats!!!!
Now, if Bush just gets tort reform passed and hoses the trial lawyers!!! (But ABCNNBCBS still thinks W is so dumb - hahahahahahahahaha)

This will help the economy too. *big effin' smile crossing face as I reflect on the beauty of GOP control*
Next union surprise, strict enforcement of the Beck decision. Hehehehehe....

What happened to all of the Bush Bashers that were complaining that nothing would change?I'm sorta waiting for Willie Green to start moaning about all the union jobs that will be lost.

Oh boy, that's new. Well, I think I remember seeing the reimbursement forms around someplace I was at once.
My brother, Tom, suggested that my kids take middle names like "Running-Bear", or "Dancing-Butterfly" in order to get "special" treatment such as you suggest. There is some anecdotal reports that such stupid ploys do work.

Now it's AFMETCAL. We're working under an AMC (Air Mobility Command) contract. It calls for inspections every 2 months by a Blue suit team with a 95% or better passing grade on all programs. We are also certified every 3 years or so by a full-blown AFMETCAL inspection. If we fail that we're gone.

This works well in AFMC -- workload has improved since they are on contract. No more complacent civilians as they know their contract is tied to performance. The joint civilian/contractor mix seems to be working out from everything I have seen here at Tinker AFB. At least it is a lot better than when it was all Civil Service and they didn't worry about keeping their jobs! Back in the mid 80's, before I retired from a defense contractor, I went on what the AF called "Logistics Tours" - one to McClellan AFB in Sacramento and the other to Warner-Robins, GA. I was flabbergasted to see the number of civilian workers sitting around with nothing to do. And one empty building after another, especially at McClellan.
You may remember McClellan. It was supposed to be closed in one of the Base Closures but Clinton violated it and kept it open. I believe that the result was keeping the work there but it is being done by private employers. I'm not sure of this.

then the Senate Judiciary committee approves a couple of Bush's nominees Indeed? This is great news! Please tell me where you heard/saw this.

Uh Oh...... look out now.... I can just hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth....
This is a payback and furtherance of the NWO, Corporate donors, moving closer to the one world government, etc. Better get someone to file some lawsuits looking at what he said and who advised him on this thing "because no one is above the law".... Yep, onward and upward and let the losers be damned..... lol.

Check out Yulista Corp........they're a NATIVE corp set up with a FED GRANT out of Alaska. They provide Maintenance and Service at a hell of a lot of Air Force bases.
Another thing , once you get in the system, you are even paid for submitting a contract bid, even if you lose.

What happened to all of the Bush Bashers that were complaining that nothing would change? Seems kinda quiet around here today. Some people have called me a Bush-basher; to be honest, I didn't expect Bush would take this step.
So here I am, giving the President credit when it's due. Hopefully he'll keep it up.

Yah, me, too. I've had one since November 5th. I met a woman today whose husband is a staunch democrat and was once mayor here. She said to me, "You've changed to a Republican!" I told her when the Clinton democrats hop the train out of town, I'd reconsider (not). She agreed that they were pretty disastrous! We may win some over yet.
