(2) The Crusades took place where? In the Middle East?
The Middle East was entirely Christian, Jewish and Zoroastrian until around 650 AD. By 750 AD it was almost entirely Moslem.
The Moslems murdered hundreds of thousands of Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians and converted millions by the sword and torture.
In the 1100s, some Christians reclaimed by force a tiny percentage of the land which had been taking by the marauding Moslem horde.
It's a shame that the Crusaders didn't finish the job. If they had, the Middle East would be a lot more like Europe and the US and not a impoverished hellhole filled with self-exploding maniacs.
This warning to Indian girls sounds very much like similar "warnings" given to German girls in the 1930's, warning them not to go out with Jewish men.
Anyone who would circulate a leaflet like this in Israel could expect to be arrested for "incitement." The irony of it is that the secular Israeli media is full of horrifying scenarios about the alleged cruelty of Orthodox men, but is acutely sensitive to anything that might offend the delicate feelings of Muslims.
I don't usually care for tracts, but that one is pretty good.
I remember the Crusades. That was Christians fighting Moslems almost a thousand years ago.
However you should know the following about what brought about the the Crusades of the 11th century.
1.The first four successors of Muhammad, the Arab Rashidun (rightly guided) Caliphs began the conquests of the Middle East around 636 AD (by the way that date is just 4 years after Muhammad's death).
2. The Caliphs began what was to become a pattern for the next 400 years of sacking, raping, and enslaving the local Christian and Jewish populations (the Arabs of today always neglect to mention this fact in their arguements to the contrary) until the Muslim Middle Easts influence reached all the way to southern Spain and Sicily.
3.Two events contributed to the decline of the muslim influence in Western Europe. First, the Normans and the Spainish recapturing the European lands through force and although it was around this time that the Greek Orthodox Church sent an urgent message to the Bishop (the Western Pope if you will) of Roman for help in the Middle Eastern Christian struggle against the Muslims it was actually the Monguls, in the second event, which dealt the Caliphs (many of whom were also fighting amongst themselves at this point and most likely due to rise of the Shi'ite and Sunni Sects within the religion) and Muslims tribes of the Middle East their most devastating blows toward their expansion. It was the Monguls who swept through Islamic Turkestan, Iran, Mesopotamia, Anatolia and Syria while threatening to sack Egypt and India also around 1218 and 1336 AD. that successfully weakened the Muslims and twarted their religious conquest of the world.
The crusades were about recapturing the birth place of Jesus for christians and I'd bet it was a little bit about piling on too. In addition we were responsible for a lot of death in the region even against our own christian followers due to the ignorance of the Crusaders themselves. But I would venture to guess that even you get bored talking about all of this History so we will leave our arguement here now for what it is worth.
I may have a few of these facts wrong but I would suggest that if you would like to get a good book on the history of the Middle Eastern region, unvarnished, you should read; "World History To 1648" by Jay Pascal Anglin and William J. Hamblin.
Why does EVERYONE nowdays spell "lose" as "loose?" Why is that word so hard?
