One episode with Bush #41 had a shot of the White House, complete with protesters & picket signs. The most obvious sign said " Pay me for not working!". Love that one

I agree, they satire just about everybody. Who can forget Marge and Lisa's exchange with Clinton:
Lisa: [gasps] Thank you, Mr. President.
Clinton: No, thank you, Lisa, for teaching kids everywhere a valuable lesson: If things don't go your way, just keep complaining until your dreams come true.
Marge: That's a pretty lousy lesson.
Clinton: Hey, I'm a pretty lousy president.

Greedy Mr. Burns and criminal Sideshow Bob are shown to be Republicans. And Homer is a violent, child-abusing, drunk, homophobic, ill-mannered, simpleton.
It is a funny show, nonetheless.
To: Oberon
That was left-wing pablum.

Favorite Simpson's conservative moment:
[Grandpa Simpson walks into storefront with overhead sign: "Social Security Office"]
Grandpa Simpson: "I'm old! Gimme gimme gimme!"

While this is a great show, South Park is really a biting social commentary, written by two very funny conservatives. Neither Simpsons creator Matt Groening nor South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone would tolerate being referred to as "conservative." In fact, Groening seems to detest conservatives. Read the interview of Groening in the current Rolling Stone, in which he has some very harsh words for Republicans and the Fox News Channel.

another clinton parody quote from the simpsons:
"So to those who say I was an embarassment to the country, I say that depends on the what the meaning of 'was' is. Now give me my 200,000 dollars."

Some fave episodes....
When Burns & Smithers run the plant. They go through about 6 security doors and when they get to the 'secret room' it's wide open with a busted screen door. Burns gets mad and kicks the dog that is sleeping in there.
When Homer eats the chili from hell.
Grampa's love potion.
When Grampa tries to steal the old guys false teeth and he pulls a gun on him!
When Willie wrestles the wolf.
The giant redwood with Lisa's face on it that 'travels across the country!'
When Homer teaches Bart to shave.
'Santa's Little Helper' at obedience school and the instructor tells the dog in the English accent, 'You son of a bitch!'
'Sideshow Bob' and the rakes!
=0)

Destroying Rosie O'Donnell and Streisand in their show deserve them some applause from us.

And he didn't even mention all the pro 2A aspects of the show.

The times I've seen 'South Park' it had me rolling on the floor.
The little 'Turd Santa' was hilarious, and the black guy when he dressed as Evel Knievel and they thought he was a Klansman!

I have seen every episode of the Simpson's and have virtually all of them on tape. I would say that the mix between bashing the right and the left is as close to 50/50 as you will find on all of network television. Which ain't saying much.
When are people going to put two and two together, and finally ask if perhaps the decline of interest in The West Wing might be linked to the nation's rightward shift?

The Simpsons are probably the most scathing satire on network TV... SNL probably #2, and South Park on Commedy Central is up there too (but that's cable).
Simpsons are merciless, they pic on all sides of the political isle, the portray republicans as evil despots (side show bob becomes mayor episode).... they portray democrats as idiots... They poke fun at gay republicans ("A Gay President in 2084?", "We're realistic" is the reply) They pick on gun nuts, and gun control freaks at the same time....
I agree they are one of only a handful of shows that even shows a family routinely going to church, and Homer and Marge's relationship is built on love and trust.. lets face it, it would have to be. But to paint the simpsons as strictly conservative, or strictly liberal I think is misguided... there are no sacred cows on the Simpsons... if its funny, its game.

You mean Sheen has lost his sheen?

Ageed and that is why I go back for more
I can take a few blows from the show.....
As long as I get to see the "other" guy take a few as well
To: L.N. Smithee
The creators of South Park have no problem with being called or referred to as conservatives. They embrace the label, as well as libertarian.
Trey Parker, one of the creators of South Park says one of his goals in life is to be on Crossfire and debate a liberal with the intent of continually calling the liberal a liar, in Cartman's voice.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone were recently given some award, and in their acceptance speech they talked about being republicans and the crowd went silent.
