Dear Military Lurkers
As you have now noticed there have been changes to the Canteen.
1st of all let me assure you that the Canteen is here to stay.
Due to circumstances beyond my control I have assumed the duty of running the Canteen.
I could not even begin to explain what happened on this or on any other thread.
HOWEVER feel free to e-mail me at seaside611@hotmail.com with any questions.
It is my intention to keep the original purpose of the Canteen on track.
That purpose is to show our support for the military, their families and veterans.
Please be assured that we stand firmly behind you.
May God Bless and Protect you, my Brothers and Sisters.

I'll teach you how to posts pictures. :) I'm thrilled the liberal member of your family did not vote. ROFL! ^5
I haven't finished your book yet, but will return it, I promise. I remember what you said when you gave it to me, and I will make a special effort to get it back to you.
Ask Long Cut if he knows any Doves in JAX we can FReep? We saw a little of the air show from our back yard, but unfortunately didn't make it. Sigh...
Think this pic is big enough?

Fortunately, no accidents yet except having a flat tire for losing control. Thankfully, I didn't hit anybody or any other cars - knock on wood. Doing those 180s and 360s on an icy road is nerve-wracking! I thnk I will stick to bumper cars.

Jen, I sure hope everything will be ok with your hubby's eyes/vision.

My "kitty-katz" are all tired out today, & they want to go to bed, so I'll go with them (we all sleep together, don't ya know).
Good night, EVERYBODY!
May the good Lord watch over us all & protect us.
May God bless & keep safe ALL our troops, and their famlies.
Nobody wants to buy a burka?

Mmmm hmmm. That's what I'm afraid of. That's why I asked if you'd washed it! With soap!! Now that I think about it, it just might keep these critters from playing "Musical Lap". How much ya want for that thing?

DoD Honors Employer Support for Reserve-Component MembersThat is wonderful news and thank you for sharing it. I have to admit I stopped reading the regular newspapers. So, I honestly woudn't know if they put news like this out there. I go now to the internet to get my news. On TV, it's either FOX, C-Span and well, not much else. But it is heartwarming to know that there are still young folks out there (not just the ones who willingly serve) who actually "get it."

Good night, tomkow. Sleep tight. Thanx for all the chuckles you bring to the Canteen. :-))

Good night and sleep well, tom (and kitty-katz). Thank you for another day of groaners for our troops. God bless you good for your service to our country.

Because the renovations were not complete, there were very few people moved back into that portion of the building.I have a friend who works there too...actually make that two friends. One was actually there when it happened but he was on another wing. He doesn't work for the Pentagon but their company does business with them (technology-related). Another friend actually has an office on the very wing that was hit. We were all frantically trying to reach him. He got back to us like a week later. Thank God he was safe. He was in another office (Rosslyn) when it happened.
