I'm appealing to all Freepers everywhere, who I know, and who I don't..

My 24 year old son Jesse, who is in law enforcement, and is very conservative and honest has been sick with ulcerative colitis for 2.5 years...He has suffered terribly.

Come Tuesday, at 8AM he will be receiving major surgery to rid him of this dreadful disease. He is having a complete colonectomy (removal of the large intestine) and j-pouch restoration which hopefully will be completed in one vast surgery.

The operation is a 6-8 hour procedure, and is being performed at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC by 2 teams of surgeons..

I've been on these threads for almost 2.5 years, in that time, I've never hit "all" on our bumplist.

I am asking everyone who reads this thread to pray for my boy, he needs every prayer he can get...

As a side note, KLT, a good friend of mine under went this exact same surgery almost ten years ago. His recovery has been as complete as can be expected. He was, at the time, twice your son's age, and to this day is still engaged in a happy, productive career. Please keep us updated.

Seven years ago, my own son was given two years to live. We prayed. We believed in the grace of God. I'd tell you more but I have to go wake him up now so that he can go to work.

Father we pray for a 100% successful surgery. We pray the surgery team will perform at a high level, that Jesse's body will withstand the long procedure and that he will recuperate rapidly. In Jesus name.
