You had better get a new source. President Bush will never have a pro-choice running mate -- never ever!

If you listen carefully, I mentioned I also heard this from someone close to Pataki. The fact it is also being written about, somewhat validates it. I just didn't make it up out of the blue.

You seem to be awful close to the President. What are you, his cousin?

What platforms? The only platform they have is scare the voters. I think they are slowly losing that already, thanks to President W Bush. :)

I just didn't make it up out of the blue.

Up to this point, as far as anyone can tell, "making it up" is exactly what you did.

I am inconsiderate because I went to the article on the link and found you changed the title for this piece and then took what was said out of context!

I must admit that you gave me a laugh with that one!

Sorry for being inconsiderate in finding the truth!

If Cheney can't, then Rumsfeld.

Nobody will be V.P. who would have a leg up on Jeb.

The only 2 that they have left really or try to have...the black one and feminist one. Both of their talking points shot to hell right there. What? Is Carville gonna smear a black woman? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA RIGHT! She is teflon.

If I do not listen to unnamed sources in the New York Times, then why should I listen to you?

I have a standard: I do not believe any unnamed sources, as they are either wishful thinking of the press or someone in the background who has an ax to grind. Period.

President Bush said yesterday on national television that if he runs in 2004, he will run with Cheney. Period.

I don't know who you are, but I do know the President has yet to lie to me. Thus, I believe the President.

Speculation about Pataki is divisive, and I will not engage in it.

OK, well we'll have to wait and see. I would love to Cheney run, but don't necessarily think it's going to happen. A close family member of mine is with the Governor Pataki daily, and this is what I heard. Oh well.

Because your title was not the title of the article and the article also completely shot down the "rumor". You just wanted to stir the pot a bit and you failed.

This is ludicrous. Pataki, bless him - he inspired me to vote third party for Gubner (calm down - if the race was close I would have voted for him).

Bush wins a mandate that stressed the most conservative candidates, and he picks Pataki. Good grief. Some will believe anything.

No way, don't forget who Pataki endorsed in 96, hint.. it wasn't Dole. I don't think Bush would choose someone who isn't on the team. I think, if Cheyney has anymore health issues that would cause him to decide not to run, Bush would probably choose Tom Ridge.

Dr. Rice will be the next best fit.

If Cheney isnt the VP in '04, I don't think it will be Rice-- she's not ready for the #2 position yet.Don't get me wrong: I think Rice is great as NSA, but what else has she done? She's not ready for the jump to VP. Perhaps SecState or Senate first? She's got a good future in the long-term, but in '04, I don't think she has the history to be ready to be VP.

My choice right now would be Guiliani. Being mayor of NYC is perhaps larger than being governor of a small midwestern state (say, Arkansas???). He's got cross-over appeal: in NY, Democrats outnumber Republicans significantly (2-1 in NY state, I think). Furthermore, post-9/11, his stock has risen considerably -- across the nation. How many people has he campaigned for this year? A lot of Republicans remember the favors he did for them-- and he's got a lot of capital. He and the White House were in close coordination.

Just my two cents worth.
