The G in GW now stands for Genius. Now of course he is plenty happy to let the opponents pretend that this Yale/Harvard MBA is a dummy but some of us see right through this act. Fortunately for him, the opposition in the press and their handlers at the DNC are too proud to admit they were wrong and report the truth. How many of the elitist in the intellegentsia predicted that GW would have coattails let alone orchestrate the historic win of the Senate? If you guessed zero, you are more accurate than the lamestream depress. Now we will see every knee jerk, heavy on the jerk excuse/analysis under the sun to minimize what just happened. Sure there was the power of the Lord and the death of Paul, but the Lord chose GW as his messenger for this country. The strategy that was put forward from the war on Iraq to the blitz of the heartland was a stroke of genius that was pioneered by the Greatest President in history Ronald Wilson Reagan!
The biggest asset outside Ws love of the Lord, is his simple honesty. His word is his bond. He is as comfortable with himself as his faded jeans. He reminds most people of Will Rogers with his Texas humor and quiet disjointed talk. He may not be a slick talker like sex-president clinton and that may be what people love the most. He is not a phony. No matter how the package is wrapped, if there is nothing appealing inside than it will not sell or be repeated. From his love of his country and his wife the man just appeals to most Americans. Never mind how he helped us all get through 911.
How did he get this win? Simple, he copied Ronald Reagan. He knew that if you are counting on the press helping you get your message out you better be from their Party. Reagan used fireside chats to reach the people and W used AF1. He flew from city to city hitting his targeted states to win the Senate. He knew that the local press would cover him and that TV time would get the message out. His observation of how Gore went non-stop for the final 48 hours opened his eyes to the importance of this strategy. This was the stroke of genius that won the election.
Was there risk involved? Yes, but not as much as most pundits thought. What did he have to lose if he lost the Senate and the House if he at least showed the country that he cared enough to put it on the line. In reality it was a win-win proposition, with one win being huge. Losing this would have meant that the next two years would have been tough to make anything happen. As a leader he realized that he had the countrys attention and they would at least give him a listen. When his message made sense then it was a matter of voting for those that he wanted to be elected. Not since RR has the WH carried such power and reverence. This is a man of principle and deep convictions that understands his place in history as a reluctant warrior.
Those brain dead liberals in the DemonRat Party will continue their mantra that he is a Dumbya which is playing right into his hands. If he is so dumb, how come they lost to a dummy?? Doesnt exactly take a Rhodes Scholar to figure that one out. So the pundits will write that he should triangulate himself and stay out of the fray to keep your poll numbers up. History is more important than poll numbers and President George Walker Bush understands that. He understands as a leader, a certain number of people who will not follow him no matter what, but a majority will appreciate a man who has the courage to lead. He has been given a chance to make his case and when he makes it the country will realize what a great President and country we have.
For whatever reason God has chosen W to be Americas Moses and no one and especially GW understands. He always tends to chose the least likely of all people to give the mantle of leadership. He found this yeawho on a barstool with a speech problem and then forgave him of all his sins. But, when God chooses them, there is a mission that is to be accomplished. This is a point in history that comes only every 100-250 years and God has chosen his servant to remind his people of what a great land he has created. Life is created at the moment of conception and so was Gods servant, GW Bush.

God bless President Bush, and thank you for posting this!
Yep. He is a "Good Ol' Boy". A "Good Ol' Boy" with a sharp brain, a great heart, and tough as nails when needed.
Well, I've thought W. was mistaken on a number of occasions regarding his "new tone" philosophy. But I'm more than ready, given the evidence of this election, to admit my own error and that there might be others out there (like on the Bush team) who know more than I.
I'll be happy to follow his lead.
Why?
Because he brings us victories.
We are in a time of crisis, and according to these historian authors, we need a leader who is seen as honest, patriotic, and unifying.
There is more to my admiration of President Bush than party loyalty. Someone, either he or Rove, has read this book.
Thank you for this essay and these comments.
And Scott, in case you have missed it, you are not alone in your statement: Well, I've thought W. was mistaken on a number of occasions regarding his "new tone" philosophy. But I'm more than ready, given the evidence of this election, to admit my own error and that there might be others out there (like on the Bush team) who know more than I.
Rush Limbaugh made a very similar mea culpa on Wednesday.
